Obvious troll is super effective against trained personnel.
I dont get in a lot of arguments in real life. The interwebz is for that
The most reasonable explanation is that Aikido doesn't work because it's fundamentally flawed in its approach. That is a lot more reasonable than attributing it to lack of prior experience and WWII which all the other arts seem to have dealt with just fine.
"The founder, Ueshiba Sensei, said, In a real battle, atemi (striking) is seventy percent, technique is thirty percent. The training that we do in the dojo is designed to teach us various sorts of techniques, the correct way to move our body, effective ways of using our power, and how to create a relationship with the other person." [This quote is repeated on page 19 of "Aikido Shugyo", also by Shioda Gozo].
the "ai" part means "love" for god's sake
but if you do, you just shoot people riiiiiight??
Only if clothes means close.
Different kanji.
"I concluded that the true state of Aikido is love and harmony."
"Aikido is love. You make this great great love of the universe your heart and then you must make your own mission the protection and love of all things. To accomplish this mission must be the true budo"
Morihei Ueshiba
hasn't come to that
But this is really an example of ur pretending I said something that I did not actually say
So back to the question, what would you do? stupid example but valid, you are in a tennis game, dude gets mads, jumps the net, punches you in the face? are you going to shoot the dude? yes or no?
I'll tell you what I will try to do, double leg, mount him, beat the fuck out of him... would I be able to do it? I dont know, but pretty sure my chances are way higher than chances of someone who just say, bjj is for pussys, I got my glock for that.
Turkey does have a strong wrestling tradition, but I dont think they use subs.
Why would you drop your tennis racket (weapon) to go for a double vs a guy with a tennis racket (weapon).
Rage I think this is a bad example.

Reminds me one time of a fight at a football practice, my s&e coach told me that he was coaching at some school in the ghetto where some kid was mad at another player and he was jawing off to him. he takes his helmet off and says "fight no helmets", he then got hit in the face with a helmet and ko'ed. apparently the other player still had his helmet in his hands and just kept it there before he threw it.
assuming someone will drop a weapon after you tell them to fight is pretty retarded
change the subject, you are playing nintendo with your frined, he gets fired up, pucnhes you in the face... etc etc... was just an example, the situation remains.
Why would you drop your controlller (weapon)? j/k Rage.
i think this thread was meant for arguing.
That's why I pack a mini-tactical nuke. Don't bring a gun to a nuke fight son.A dude just shot up a theater...all this crap about "effectiveness" is nonsensical. Real fighting is about weapons and numbers
why would they go to russia for?
