Again. Not a troll attempt I will lay out the facts.
First of all let me address this narrative that Jacare choked in every big opportunity given to him. This is utter crap.
First of all Jacare's career did not begin in the UFC. He was already a well established top MMA fighter before joining at the age of about 34-35 in his prime. At that same age Chris Weidman has been getting the shit kicked out of him.
After dropping his title to Luke he went on a 3 fight win streak. Then came to the UFC adding 4 more wins to that streak. With Rockhold he was given a big match right away to set up a titleshot. Again he got KTFO!!! How was Rockhold rewarded??? He headlined 2 out of his next 3 matches. This includes a match over big name Michael Bisping. Jacare in the other hand came in looking like a savage. After wrecking long time top middleweight Yushin Okami, for some strange reason he was matched up with Carmont. As if Jacare was a nobody or something. Anyway once again, Jacare capped off this win streak with a dominant stoppage win over Gegard, another long time elite established fighter. What was his reward????
Let's compare shall we.
Jacare 4 fight UFC win streak top win being Gegard Mousasi. 7 fight streak overall.
Luke went on a 3 fight streak after getting KOed. Top win was Bisping at that time.
Luke was rewarded with yet ANOTHER headliner against big name Lyoto Machida whilst Jacare had to rematch Camozzi on the same card.
Camozzi was a replacement you say??? It's still bullshit as Jacare had done enough to earn a shot already. Or at least a headliner against Luke/Machida.
Are people really trying to pretend that Luke didn't get opportunities and push that Jacare did not? As far as Chris goes,
@Franklin U. said it best, "timing and circumstances."
Now obviously Jacare is older than the other 2 so he did decline but even older Jacare is holding his own better than not as old Chris Weidman who was DEFINITELY losing the fights against Rockhold, Romero, and Mousasi. The first rounds of each fight were very close but in the second round of each one you will notice his opponents start to take over and it's very clear.
As far as Jacare's looks and the way he speaks, YES it would have helped if he was more handsome, and spoke great English.
People keep talking about the ufc belt, when ultimately that is fantasy. That is just a marketing tool. If you ask mist casual fans, Chris Weidman easily had the better career, but if you ask the fighters, it's obvious that Jacare has done more work.
