AEW AEW CXIII : It's Wednesday , Where's the Thread

Ariel pushed the question on Cody and Josh Barnett of all people (who worked Wrestledream) and quickly changed the subject when they weren't fitting his narrative.

The Ariel/Punk interview wasn't the only anti-AEW messaging throughout the week by WWE.

Also, WWE should have bashed AEW during their biggest most profitable week ever. Its good business. They've slaughtered Tony Khan's reputation on social media. Its smart.

I just like the idea, that WWE, who has played tricks on their competitors for 40 years. Wouldn't be petty enough to coordinate an attack on their #1 competitor.

This is the same company that put clauses in numerous buildings in 2021 that AEW couldn't run them until WWE ran them in the calender year. Which delayed AEW from running Scotiabank Arena until 2023.
In this case, whether or not they set it up, I think Punk would have answered a similar question from anyone the same. Maybe I'm wrong and someone can find Internet proof. I just think he doesn't need help to be a petty asshole.

That's very accurate.

Whether there was a coordinated attack or not. Punk would have been an asshole, this is very true LOL.

And he fucked around with AEW enough and found out. He'll be exposed as a liar and a fraud Wednesday.

I'm seeing rumours on twitter that the tape shows Punk throwing punches towards Perry which all miss, he then attempts to put a choke on Perry which Perry reverses.

I'm not believing that even for a second, but it would be hilarious if true

That would be the best case scenario for Perry and AEW, but I doubt it.

It would be REALLY funny too. "Shooter" Perry.

So pretty much how he lost his UFC fight lol, the rumors I saw are what you mentioned. Missed all his punches and was overpowered by Perry.

Seen some weird shit about Forbidden Door this year too. Apparently New Japan are stopping it from being in Arthur Ashe?

Rocky Romero called bullshit on Sean Ross Sapp's report, SRS won't admit he was wrong, but is claiming he "edited" his report whatever that means, haven't seen the "new" report.

If this is all it is, what exactly does showing it do? Show Punk sucks at fighting? That boat sailed awhile ago. Show Punk is full of shit? Also sailed away.

I hope it is something more, because nothing there is going to help promote The Young Bucks vs FTR

Somebody is mad somebody else said something unkind about them. The footage is retaliation and they're trying to work backwards into making it be about a storyline for a match.

The only thing that would surprise me is if it makes sense. I can't imagine why the young bucks vs ftr needs it though.

Hopefully it's timestamped and unedited.

To be honest, I'm pretty happy to get a third shot of watching Punk trying to fight. I need a good laugh.

I'm confused about why they're showing the footage. I've heard it's to build to the FTR/Bucks match at the ppv. To an AEW audience, this is a total babyface move, so are the Bucks dropping the heel EVP thing? Were FTR involved in the footage?

It will presumably pop a rating, but so what? A one off rating is not a solid strategy to turn things around. This to me seems like a desperate act of a failing company. Desperation booking after a long decline that has not been dealt with even close to competently.

I am ambivalent about Jack Perry. He's probably not good enough for the role he's going to be put in as a result of this.

and the rest will do mental gymnastics to justify his position.

As is tradition.
Whatever makes people happy

Since I'll be watching Dynamite either way, I just hope we get to see Samoa Joe telling him/them to calm the fuck down.
