AEW AEW CXIII : It's Wednesday , Where's the Thread

I'm guessing Punk did something to TK as he stated he feared for his life.

Whatever it is, it’s the Jack Perry return launching pad.

He already did move on, by not showing the tape back in September 2023 (which apparently he wanted to do). The WWE, through a very coordinated effort bashed AEW all last week.

He had 2 options:

Ignore it, look like a bitch and allow Punk and WWE to continue to bash him. Which they would do.

Or lower to their level and show the tape and advance his own show and storylines. And basically shut CM Punk up.

Tony took the latter.
That's a stupid take, no offense.

So you REALLY believe the week of WM40 that WWE would want to have any kind of spotlight on AEW? Take off the tinfoil hat.

Punk was doing the PR rounds and Ariel asked questions, which Punk answered. I'm sure he made himself look better just because he's Punk and delusional.

I'm betting nobody comes out looking "better" after this is aired, except maybe Perry.

You know Ariel's personal agent used to be Nick Khan right? And since Khan went there, they've used Ariel for publicity on a regular basis? That Ariel's potshots at Tony began just about then.

Also, the dirt sheets flat out stated they where told WWE would take shots at AEW on purpose last week.

Tony has spoken

“AEW has a great track record on delivering what we advertise, and it is real footage. This is real-life footage that affected many people.

The decision is based on putting on the best show for AEW, as well as driving interest for Dynamite and our Dynasty PPV on April 21.”

Tony on FTR and Bucks match on Dynasty: “Their rivalry is one of the most significant ever in AEW, and there is a good reason why the Young Bucks are showing this video.

It’s important that the Young Bucks explain the reason why this is relevant going into Dynasty.”

Looks like its exactly what we thought.

Moving storylines forward

Believing dirt sheets is your 1st mistake.

Have a good day.

Also, you know...the 40 years of dirty tricks the WWE has done to their competitors.
You're not wrong about WWE in the last 40 years but I am betting this was Punk being Punk.

Wasn't Cody on the show a few days later saying he doesn't share Punk's assessment?

They couldn't stop. It wasn't just the Punk interviews. Triple H and Pat McAfee taking shots as well. I don't even follow WWE and I saw them.

I heard as much about AEW Wrestlemania week as I did WWE.

Ariel pushed the question on Cody and Josh Barnett of all people (who worked Wrestledream) and quickly changed the subject when they weren't fitting his narrative.

The Ariel/Punk interview wasn't the only anti-AEW messaging throughout the week by WWE.

Also, WWE should have bashed AEW during their biggest most profitable week ever. Its good business. They've slaughtered Tony Khan's reputation on social media. Its smart.

I just like the idea, that WWE, who has played tricks on their competitors for 40 years. Wouldn't be petty enough to coordinate an attack on their #1 competitor.

This is the same company that put clauses in numerous buildings in 2021 that AEW couldn't run them until WWE ran them in the calender year. Which delayed AEW from running Scotiabank Arena until 2023.
