AEW AEW CXIII : It's Wednesday , Where's the Thread

Hmmmm that's a good question. I guess I'm neutral to Drew doing it. On one hand, he's using it to make Phil look bad in their fued (which Punk does look bad imo). On the other hand I think it also applies to wwe - I don't get why you'd want to draw attention to something that happened in another company when you now employ a guy looked like a jackass.
Fair enough. At least you're consistent in your view.

I guess we'll see what happens later tonight anyway. I don't really think they'll show any footage of Punk, and it'll be a troll by The Young Bucks. Just hope it's entertaining.

I wonder if it's footage of The Young Bucks filming FTR shaving their backs in the showers at Wembley, then putting Ucey Hot on themselves

Same people agreeing that it's bad for AEW to mention it are the same people who think Dijak and Grayson Waller mentioning it is hilarious. I really don't get where the line is drawn.

It's really just people who don't like Tony Khan. That's what 95% of it comes down to. Everything he does will be scrutinized. And TBF he does bring some of the heat on himself. It's pro wrestling, though. It's not that serious lol.

Is everyone actually convinced they're showing the Punk footage then? I'm really not

I want to see it and have no issue with them showing it, but If they don't show it, they better pull off some Martin Scorcese-esque cinematic masterpiece of a story line or I might be #AllOut. This is some Vince Russo level bullshit if they don't show it and whatever they do is some terrible shit for "heat". I watched my beloved WCW rot away from doing that type of bullshit, I ain't trying to watch shit like that again.

Bottom line, I just hope he sent a text to Cody on Monday morning that was along these lines

I just want it to be entertaining and possibly build something towards the FTR match. Their last match was good but didn't have much heat to it. Heel Bucks with the EVP gimmick adds something entertaining and new.

Seen an article on Wrestle Purists as well saying the new Elite could be the opposite of what Copeland is trying to be leading to a feud between The Elite and Copeland+ FTR. I'd be down for that

I think the thing I'm most worried about with AEW is how many people they have in the biggest positions in the company now are from the shittiest dark era of WWE. The era of WWE when The Elite was pulling up outside of WWE arenas on BTE to make fun of the company. The era of WWE where AEW was supposed to be the "alternative" to it. The people helping run WWE then are the people Tony Khan has recently hired to be his executives lol

I also don't trust a word any of these sites are reporting on the situation like saying it's guaranteed they're showing Punk footage or that Punk wasn't supposed to shoot on AEW in the Helwani interview.

It was so obvious that's what Punk was on the MMA hour for

As long as they're building towards the future and not relying on these guys (which is where WCW and TNA have seriously gone wrong in the past) then I think they'll be good. Swerve and Ospreay are good indicators of that though

I think punk will do that every opportunity he gets. He's just a miserable bitter guy. As much as I love bret, Punk seems to be just as miserable and petty.

They've done great work making timeless toni a huge wrestling attraction.

Jen Pepperman being AEW's Vice President of Content Development after reading about the pitches she was a part of in that lawsuit against WWE by that other ex-writer doesn't make me very excited lol

Then you've got Mariah May right there too. They've done a good job getting away from Britt Baker

And building Britt up was a big accomplishment. I'll always root for making "home grown talent" into stars. If you told someone a chick with an evil dentist gimmick would run the division 10 years ago you'd laugh.
