I was leaning Dricus throughout the build up, and am definitely concerned that Izzy was so emotional, but Izzy is a sniper, and Dricus is so damn sloppy and funky with his striking. Granted he's uber powerful, so if he connects clean or wobbles Izzy he can obviously finish, but he is just so sloppy and open to counters.

Theoretically, a sharp Izzy should be able to eat him alive.

Furthermore, something about DDP's arrogance in this matchup gives the impression of over confidence, and he has that look in his eye like he thinks he CAN'T be beaten. This may very well work against him here.

The odds are about right. Izzy rarely looks dominant (people seem to remember his dominant wins more than his close wins and losses) and now he's declining. DDP is probably the 1st MW to bring a well rounded offense since Gastelum.

But Izzy has a giant advantage in the striking... Dricus is sloppy and Izzy is elite when he is on.
