Aaron Pico Should Come to the UFC Now

Since we are thinking about currently contractually impossible fighters in ufc let’s hope pico brings nemkov with him too

Sage didn't fight particularly tough opponents himself, one of his losses was to Mickey Gall whose claim to fame was beating CM Punk.
Sage they kind of pulled back on after giving him real fights.

Looked up his record. Bro, his win streak is a bunch of no wiki guys. I'm not sure.

Over half the UFC roster is no wiki guys at this point or worse. The UFC is flooded with cans significantly worse than the notable Bellator talents. Im not saying Pico wins belt but he's an A level athlete with an elite wrestling background and a great amateur boxing pedigree that got into MMA instead of dedicating himself to Olympic and international wrestling...a rare kinda prospect. Hes 25 now though and 8-3 professionally and while he got tossed to. 16-3 Corrales when he was only 4-1 and to a more experienced prospect in Borics that was 12-0 when Pico was 4-2...Now Pico has been built up, is reaching the early stages of his prime years and gained experience...lets see what he can do.

By the way, Bellator fighters may not come to the UFC and simply dominate at the elite level but MANY Bellator fighters to the UFC and became top 10 fighters.

Who did he fight that was particularly good? I bet most if not all his opponents have losing records in the UFC.

Edit: I guess Mickey Gall does have a 6-3 record in the UFC but at the time he fought Sage he was 3-0 with CM Punk and Mike Jackson as his two wins in the UFC.

AJ is the one they should be looking at. He's as legit a prospect as we've seen. Pico is still young and still improving, and I think he will go to the UFC eventually. But I think he needs to prove himself in Bellator before moving over. He's still not there yet. He did have some freak contract with Bellator too. Like 10 fights or some shit. I know he's had a bunch since then and that that contract began years ago now, wasn't around to hear if he signed another long term deal or not, but I'd presume so.

No way. He will have to go back to his wrestling, or get slept by top 10 strikers in the UFC. Dude has a suspect chin. And he is still young, not a good sign.

I’m sure he’s under some big contract with Bellator but I’d like to see him take the next step up and come to the UFC. He’s got the experience now and still has plenty of room to improve. Could you see him doing well in the UFCs featherweight division?

Thank god you're not a manager.

Barbarena would be the best- solid mid carder. After the Pfister fight, he had Gall, Marin, and Barbarena. Don’t get me wrong, this was not a murderer’s row. But they were clearly not absolute trash, so the UFC backed off and made sure to find him some real softballs.

He's ok where he is for now. At around 27-29 though he wants to be putting some serious thought into it. But bellator is behind taking care of him and developing him. He should take advantage of that favoritsm while he's young and growing. UFC is just going to throw him in the deep end.

His chin is ripe for the picking. Dana would throw him to wolves right away.

Yeah he wouldn’t fuck around, no one gets easy fights. Conor probably closest to an easy one with the Cerrone fight but even he wasn’t completely shot (though he’d always been a cab according to Sherdog after that fight)

Interesting to see how he stacks up to the UFC welterweights.

Everyone always says Bellator has a better Welterweight division so I expect we will find out.

Although I expect Dana to throw him to the wolves immediately.
{<huh}

Pico? Need McKee in the UFC, hopefully he can come within the next few years and not end up like Chandler coming in too late

Not necessarily on the matchup part, now. Initially, I agree. Pico got guys they thought he would stylistically style on despite the experience difference. Then once they realized he was behind where they thought he was, they adjusted and gave him easier competition.

As for Sage, he and O'Malley who almost outright refuses to fight better fighters, are outliers. The UFC has a tendency to throw prospects into the fire with regularity. Bellator let's guys like MVP, Pico and others coast for ages in cupcake match-ups. The UFC has burned many guys with promise pushing them too hard.
You are way off here, it really sounds like you haven't followed much of Pico's career at all. He fought high level guys right away. You shouldn't be comparing him to someone like MVP who has faced way lower competition. What Bellator does with MVP's match making doesn't apply at all to Pico.

The only guys UFC throws into the fire coming into the UFC are champions or title contenders for other major organizations, Pico is neither yet.

Totally.

The UFC don't baby their fighters, but I still think he could do pretty well there.

I'd be worried they'd fix him up with someone like Yair Rodriguez in his debut, when someone like Lando Vannata would be more appropriate.

He'd be super fun to matchmake for, just as long as the goal wasn't to prove that a kid coming over from Bellator wasn't legit.
You guys claiming that Pico has been given easy match ups haven't watched any Pico fights.
