Aaron Pico Should Come to the UFC Now

The only current fighter I'd like to see from Bellator in the UFC is AJ McKee.

There's loads I'd be interested in. Amosov, MVP, Emmanuel Sanchez, Juliana Velasquez, Denise Kielholtz, Joey Davis, both Pitbulls, Raufeon Stots, Juan Archuleta, Vadim Nemkov, Karl Albrektsson, Vitaly Minakov if he starts training properly again, Anatoly Tokov, Ilima Lei MacFarlane, Roman Faraldo, Dalton Rosta, Logan Storley, Magomed Magomedov, Brent Primus, Muhhamed Berkhamov just for starters.

He's a middling fighter in Bellator. What justifies him making the jump besides his age?

Bellator has a lot of other fighters that could win in the UFC.

I think if Pico came to the UFC he's lose and seriously derail his career.

Nemkov and Amasov are on that list for me as well.

Good shouts.

I know you both didn't mention him but I've always been a Douglas Lima fan ever since his first Bellator fight. He's another I would love to see in the UFC. Even if he isn't in his prime anymore, he still took a young lion like MVP to a split in his last fight.

Yeah I'd still like to see Lima as long as they keep him away from wrestlers.

Looked up his record. Bro, his win streak is a bunch of no wiki guys. I'm not sure.
The criteria for how an MMA fighter gets a wikipedia page makes it incredibly hard for any fighter not in the UFC to get a wiki page. The last 3 guys he beat are all pretty decent. Especially the last guy he beat, Justin Gonzalez who was an undefeated LFA champion.

Pretty much. His floor and ceiling are both apparent but the guy has shown elite flashes. He's just got no sense of urgency and is content to fight everyone's fight. Kind of sad really.

I think Lima is pretty shot tbh. He might have had a chance to contend in the Lawler/Woodley era but it's too late now.

I wouldn't say he's shot, just a bit past prime, he has the same strengths and weaknesses that he's always had.

Nah he's on track to getting the Bellator title first. If he comes now there's a bunch of heavy hitters that can capitalize on his chin. Zombie, Giga, Ortega, Barboza, Yair, Max, and Kattar will really test his durability.

I mean sure. I thought he looked pretty bad in the MVP fight even if he should have won it. Either way I hope he has a couple more good performances left in him as I am a big fan.

I think he owes Bellator a few more years. He has been under his long term development deal and they paid for a lot of his expenses. He has been kind of a bust too. He needs to get out Jackson's graveyard though.

I hope you didn't leave anyone out.

That's like half their roster, if you weed out all the cans. If all those people left for the UFC, Bellator would have nothing left but regional bums.

The UFC won't gradually let him grow. They'll throw him in deeper waters. He's well rounded enough to win some fights there but he's a glass cannon and would falter at some point against better competition. I'm sure he'll make it exciting though.
As long as he faces grapplers he will never lose

At 25 I’m all for it. Need more young prospects from anywhere other than pretender series 5k jobbers.

Yeah, I'd like to see him brutally KO'd in the UFC.

Not necessarily on the matchup part, now. Initially, I agree. Pico got guys they thought he would stylistically style on despite the experience difference. Then once they realized he was behind where they thought he was, they adjusted and gave him easier competition.

As for Sage, he and O'Malley who almost outright refuses to fight better fighters, are outliers. The UFC has a tendency to throw prospects into the fire with regularity. Bellator let's guys like MVP, Pico and others coast for ages in cupcake match-ups. The UFC has burned many guys with promise pushing them too hard.
Exactly right.

The stupidest thing is one of the few guys the UFC actually treated with kid gloves and gave a gentle development path to was Greg Hardy. I get that’s he’s got some fame as a former NFL player, but TBH I think Sage got more heat after he did that crazy flip after his first fight.

I suppose the flip side is it’s much easier to find trash opponents for a heavyweight “prospect.” Than someone at WW.
