No Spoilers A really good burger rivals a really good steak

I feel like a burger has a higher floor than a steak at a restaurant setting. I'm probably jaded because I've had so many high priced mediocre steaks but I'd rather have a good burger or even better Texas BBQ over steak.

Steak is a single ingredient which already tastes amazing.

Nobodies comparing ground beef vs steak. The burger is entirely reliant on his support crew.

Ironically, when ground beef becomes fancy enough, it drops it's "burger" moniker altogether, and starts identifying itself as steak tartare.

Maybe it's the sandwich part you like the most TS? Because ground beef is nowhere near as flavorful as a steak and includes parts of the cow you would never eat on its own. Try having a steak sandwich.

Agree. Sometimes I’d prefer a burger and fries over steak and potatoes

I agree, if it is a really good burger. I'd also say that, being a Kansas City native, really good BBQ rivals a high end steak.

Steak alone is too bland for me, a good burger and fries is ideal for a night out for me.

A good burger should have nothing but a slice of good cheese, maybe some bacon an grilled onions. That's it. A good burger needs no sauce . Actually easier finding a good steak then a really good burger

Wow, this isn't easy to admit but I may have had a similar burger experience. As you were eating your burger did you cry over the thought of not being able to get it on a pretzel bun too?

I agree wholeheartedly OP. During covid I took a job at a big grocery chain. I was eating the best cuts of steaks, ground beef, pork, sausage etc... free of charge for a good 7 or 8 months.

It was early April and the bbq/gazebo was still wrapped up so I got into cast iron cooking, and tried a variety of different ways of preparing meats, especially burgers.

I mixing chuck, sirloin, ground beef, brisket etc ...into smash burgers. This was gourmet shit and as great as any Steak I ever ate anywhere. A key component are brioche buns, laced with butter and toasted.

The story behind the free meat was that I had a weird shift and worked in a window when no regular employee did. I stumbled into different department managers stealing steaks and various meats off the truck. Everyone was pissed because the owners dropped the "hero pay" (think that's what they called the increase to attract more workers), despite few business being open and the stores still short on staff. Managers and drivers were doing crazy extra hours so they stuck it to the man through their meats. It was like walking in on some b heist film scene. They offered to cut me in, and I gladly accepted lol
