Watch the fight. He didn't even hit Cain properly. Cain's glass body gave out after he got clubbed in his neck area. You see Cain scream as soon as he hit the ground.

Prime Cain? I'd favor Cain 7 times out of 10 if they fought. Ngannou would only have 1 round to put him away and he'd certainly have the power but we haven't really seen anyone that can match Cain's tenacity.

It’s the right time from another angle. It’s really not a punch. Go to the original video and watch the replays. It shows a different angle. It’s an open hand that pushed his neck/chest area away.

Edit: I found some Cain interview saying there was a shot behind the ear that bothered him. I honestly don't see that either.
