Media A history of cheating in MMA (with cliffs)

Countlessly many fouls or rule violations in the UFC over the years, it begs the question is a foul in MMA the same as cheating.

For example in Rugby League you will get penalties all the time for various infractions, like a high tackle or a shoulder charge, but it wouldn't be called cheating, it's a penalty, and maybe the player gets sent off temporarily or for the match.

Something like greasing seems to be pretty obvious cheating, but a lot of the other things in the list less so.

Tactical fouls are accepted in most sports, it's only when it's combat sports people start to get their knickers in a twist.

The crazy thing is that Yoel never 'cheated' in the first place. He took advantage of confusion among officials but did absolutely nothing against the rules. BJM explained this at the time.

Fighter A blatantly cheats to nearly KO Fighter B.

Fighter B legally takes advantage of confusion to recover more from Fighter A's cheating.

= Fighter B is a cheat.

It was a masterclass in MMA mong logic and many mongs still believe it to this day.
Not only did he not cheat but he did exactly what the ref BJM told him to do which was keep sitting. You're supposed to follow the ref's instructions at all times. BJM has explained all this publicly multiple times including on the JRE.

It just shows you how much of a POS Tim Kennedy is. He keeps pushing a narrative that he knows is false to this day. The all American hero that stages a robbery to try and promote his security system.

Just because a person is a veteran doesn't mean that person isn't a complete jackass.

Max Holloway against Justin Gaethje. Never seen someone celebrated so much for such a foul filled lackluster fight.

Holy fuck dude, again?
Gaethje was gonna get fuckin smoked in that fight regardless of some ACCIDENTAL eyepokes or not ffs.

Everyone on earth knows Max is not a dirty fighter, let it go homegirl.

Challenging a compromised opponent to throw down in the 5th round after damaging his vision in BOTH his eyes due to illegal strikes is one of the weakest moves in MMA history.

I watched the video and it clearly states that Carlos Newton lifted Matt Serra in the air in a historic moment in UFC championship history.

You must have remembered it wrong.
It happens to the best of us.
Don't beat yourself up over it.

lol in my defense, I was taking cliff notes at the time, thought I would not be surprised if dementia is setting in 40 years early.

Damn it I guess you're right lol. I do remember them seriously affecting the fight though. But yea, fingers stay in the cage. I'm just a big Jacare stan and always seem to find spots to shine some light on my boy.
I remember Romero grabbing the cage to prevent being taken down. It was pretty egregious and prevented Jacare from getting the TD and getting in a dominant position.

I remember scoring that fight a draw (10-8 Romero Rd 1, Jacare 10-9 Rd 2&3) but I was pleasantly surprised to hear Romero won.

The eye poke will always be the perfect cheat in the UFC because it is semi-allowed but smoother then the groin strike so it gives fighters time to use the consequences.
In a real life fight both would escalate violence with headbutting and other ugly things but in the UFC you lose if you respond to it.
Even if you poke the fucker back, because there will be more focus on it.
Poke first is the golden rule of MMA!

The guy who fish-hooked Poirier was Chandler, not McGregor and Kennedy was fouling a lot before Romero took extra time between rounds
And there are differences between fouling and cheating, fouling is part of sports and should lead to penalties while cheating should lead to temporary or life bans
