I don’t know how my girl puts up with me, she’s a left winger.
abortions for everybody!
abortions for everybody!
We have known this for years. Almost all the happy, productive, married guys on here are conservative and almost all the well known lefty posters are angry single losers.
The MAGA movement is a big, fun successful party. The other side are always miserable and wringing their hands worrying about this or that.
I don't have anything against people who have socially / culturally conservative values. But if you are barely scraping by in the lower to middle class and you're a Republican, you're a moron, I'm sorry. To go against your material, economic self-interest purely based on social issues is moronic.
And if you think Trump is any different from all the other conmen politicians who have come before him, you're also a moron.
The guy is content to act as a vessel for the core Republican agenda, which is to hollow out the American middle class while giving the rich / corporations a sweet deal. Sure, he'll make some largely symbolic moves to appease his base (like saber-rattling with China, doing construction on that dumb-ass wall, etc.), but make no mistake - the guy is there to make the rich happy, like most presidents before him.
If you think I'm full of shit, notice how the Republicans have largely stopped their in-fighting. The party is quite pleased with Trump's performance, and it's now clear that all of his populist talk was just that, talk. He is one of them, so no need to fight him anymore.

Yes. Let's look at the way Donald Trump talks about people he disagrees with.Good read.
"But until we start seeing each other as human beings, there will be no bridging the divide. I refuse to be a part of the divisiveness any longer. I refuse to hate people I don’t know simply because they choose to vote for someone else. If we’re going to heal the country, we have to start taking steps toward one another rather than away."
Judging by the second paragraph in your post it doesn't appear that you've learned the lesson. So instead of having an open mind and not judging the other side, you're interpreting it as a win for your side, and bashing the other.A very good read.
The writer of this articles says, "What if my perception of the other side is wrong?"
I actually believe this to be very true. Most people imo simply aren't exposed to anything good about Trump, or any of the successes he's achieved since becoming the President.
Most of the media is totally hateful of Trump so obviously all stories on him start off from that mindset. People hear awful things about him, some exaggerated things, and some things that are actually made up. This is not only from the media but also members of the Democrat party. They lie, and they lie by omission also. The media is dishonest, and the Democrat Party is dishonest.

I'm not barely scraping by and I'm not a Republican.
You are correct about one thing though: Trump and the Republicans have learned how to compromise and work together, something the naive progressives and criminal Democrats have proven unable to do.
If you honesly think progressives have any idea what their policy ideas actually lead to historically, or think the establishment Democrats are any different from the Republicans then sorry but you're a stupid asshole.
Somehow I feel like if the politics were reversed, right-wing posters would be calling this person a shill and saying that they got paid for it.
just once in my life I want to be present for one of these completely unironic cryfestsWas happily surprised to hear my department complaining about the Democratic left sensitivity.
I don't find outlier incidents to be a good indicator of anything at all.Well, the idea of a Trump supporter going to a left wing rally and being welcomed would be a lot harder to believe. No way they don't get physically/verbally assaulted.
so media is dishonest, dems are dishonest but republicans .....totally off the hook lol....understood!A very good read.

100% calculated and on purpose. The left-leaning outlets are just puppets of far more powerful individuals who have much to lose from Trump threatening "business as usual" in Washington.A very good read.

No no no, you've got this wrong. The left is a bunch of crazy violent liars, and the right is nothing but sane, peaceful, honest folk.so media is dishonest, dems are dishonest but republicans .....totally off the hook lol....understood!
the whole left right is designed to divide, they play it like a fiddle and people just dance jigs to it
the only way to start getting some change going for the better is for a proportionately large number of the population to wake up to the fact that they are indeed being played by a two headed dragon that belongs to the same body
PS...after you all learn to move past the petty differences they are so good at exploiting and highlighting.....maybe we could take this whole "looking thru the other lens" lesson and apply it to the brownish people in foreign countries and empathize a bit with how they feel about being invaded
Way to completely miss the point and perpetuate toxic behavior.Yes. Let's look at the way Donald Trump talks about people he disagrees with.
Yes...
Democrat policies have done more to destroy the working/middle class than anyone else. Their Tax and Spend and Open door policies have crippled the working class. The people they claim to want to protect.
