I actually have one of D.M. Murdock's books (the author upon whose assertions Part 1 of the first film is almost entirely based). I think her evidence in many regards is weak and she reaches a lot of times, but I think she genuinely believes in the conclusions she's reached regarding astrotheology.
She actually has responded to much of the criticism with her Zeitgeist Sourcebook, which actually has a lot of interesting stuff in it. Here it is:

I thought they were all very different films and the only one I really cared for was the first. Parts 2 and 3 were interesting, but they didn't have the impact that I felt the first one did. I'm not sure what you mean about them being the same film. I suppose the core message is the same in a general way, but by parts 2 and 3 Peter Joseph had left all the religion and 9/11 stuff behind.
I watched them in reverse order so maybe that's why i saw it that way
Part three kinda has a message for religion since it accepts science as the basis for society. It still has the subtleties of the first but focuses on the building a new world part more.
