9-11 question... real or modern myth

I've heard numerous times over the years that the footage that the main channels was running (NBC, ABC, Fox) was edited to cut out shots of bodies hitting the ground.

But, unedited footage of these channels gets sent to Telemundo and Telemundo was showing footage of bodies impacting the ground.


Anyone know if this is true?

i saw footage of people jumping, but i do not ever remember seeing anyone hit the ground. i even remember a youtube video trying to claim that they were not real people jumping.....

If such footage existed, I have to presume it would be available somewhere online. Then again, the CIA/FBI could suppress such a thing couldn't they? I've never seen that, nor read anything about that online.

That's true. Showing the moment of death is a huge faux pas in American media. Even if the cameraman followed a body to the ground it would get cut off a live broadcast with a 3 second tape delay, even more so a repeated showing of footage.

I was in 9th grade when this happened. We spent the week and some of the following week talking about 911. A video we were shown was uncensored with people jumping out of windows because of the fire. Really, really heartbreaking stuff. Not sure of the answer to the question bring asked.

Odd myth. There is footage of bodies hitting, but US news as far as I know never showed body impacts. Telemundo is not known for being the classiest. This is a bizarre question.

I've seen 9/11 amateur footage (shot from another building) on Youtube showing a bunch of corpses after they hit the ground. One of the most disturbing things I've seen.

There actually is footage taken from an adjacent building that shows splattered bodies on the ground as well as footage of a few jumpers crashing through a white tent and hitting the ground below it. I will not link said video but you can find it on Youtube. The video in question was used during the trial of Khalid Sheikh Mohammed.

As for Telemundo, not once did they ever show any footage of jumpers hitting the ground. A lot of the news channels did show jumpers jumping out of the buildings and that was as far as they went in showing it. Also the majority of the footage shown was from a distance not that close to both of the towers which led to an obstructed view of the ground below when it came to filming.

One video has stuck with me and it was of WNYW, channel 5 cameraman Jack Taliercio filming a man wearing a suit who was hanging out the 77th floor window of the south tower. The man ended up trying to climb down the face of the building with what looked like a rope and was making his way down when he lost his grip and fell to his death.

There's a documentary on youtube called "9/11: The Days After" or something like that and a camera guy goes up to a group of firemen in a circle and asks "What is that?" refering to an object on the ground, and they go "It's part of a person." The camera shows it and I would not have been able to tell what this hunk of material was had the fireman not answered the guy's question.
