Posse Comitatus my dude. It prevents federal troops from being deployed unless and act of congress or a new amendment is passed.
You called it.
A federal judge ruled Tuesday that President Donald Trump’s administration “willfully” broke federal law by sending National Guard troops to the Los Angeles area in early June after days of pro
California sued over the deployment of troops, saying it violates the Posse Comitatus Act, a 1878 law that prohibits military enforcement of domestic laws. Lawyers for the Trump administration argued the Posse Comitatus Act doesn’t apply because the troops were protecting federal officers, not enforcing laws, and that the president had the authority to call on the troop

This is a gross misrepresentation. You do realize the homicides rate for the state includes Chicago, right?

For instance, in 2023, the state had 823 homicides while Chicago had 617. So 206 without chicago

State population of 12.3 million in 2023, with Chicago being 2.69 million. Making the state population without Chicago 9.6 million.

So Chicago has a murder rate of about 22 per 100k in 2023, while the state is 2.15 per 100,000

Meaning Chicago has a murder rate about 10x higher.

Even with the highest estimated of homicides of 1150 in the state for 2023, meaning 533 not including Chicago, that is still 5.5 per 100k… meaning Chicago is still 4x higher

It is almost as if Chicago was included in the state wide homicide rate lol. Plus the year isn’t finished and data not available

It is almost as if these pro crime degenerates have an agenda
I was just a bit confused on his numbers because from the City of Chicago’s own website it has 278 homicides as of August 31 - https://data.cityofchicago.org/Publ...f-Homicides-and-Non-Fa/gumc-mgzr/data_preview.

Although way lower than years past, if you do the math on a population of 2.78 million, which I think is even more than it currently is, it is still 10 homicides per 100k.

I am curious if the state of Illinois has this up to date info as well, because then you can just subtract Chicago’s murders and population and get the number. But based on years past, if you remove Chicago, then Illinois is generally less than 3/100k.

But I would also like to know if I am wrong, and looking at incorrect datasets?

How do you know who does the crime? You think they're going to just do it in the street in front of the guard?

Maybe we could have a specially trained group of people that investigate crime. We can call them police.
The police? Lol. That's been working great.

It's almost like Democrats demonized, defunded and demoralized them, to the point where they can't do their jobs effectively, which saw mass exoduses from the force along with hiring issues, since nobody wants to do that thankless job in Democrat run shit holes, that care more about protecting criminals than enforcing the law.

Yeah, Democrat mayors who actively hate the police, should be charged with solving this issue. They'll have those streets cleaned up in no time...

Cool Canadian fan fiction. Do you do a lot of writing in your igloo?

I mean pretty much by any metric you can gather violent crime is down nationwide, even in Chicago. It's basically as low as it has ever been since we started doing serious recording of the statistics.

Just because crime still happens doesn't mean we need to turn into a military dictatorship.

It takes between 600 and 1000 hours of training to get licensed as a cop. Yes, you get to do all the cool cowboy shit like shooting guns, learning how to fist fight, defensive, driving, tactics, etc.

Cadets still spend hundreds of hours understanding the laws that they are there to enforce and the legal framework that they have to operate in based off of federal, state and local laws, as well as as the constitution itself.

There is nothing your average national guardsman goes through that would prepare them for the job They are being tasked with.
- It happened here in Rio de Janeiro. Crime goes down when troops are out, after that they come back.

- How is their training? I've read that your security guards dont have to do a 200 hour basic course. It's true?

Thankfully these knuckleheads in Chicago still don’t know how to properly use a firearm. 8/58 is a horrible %.
- I think it's a american thing. Our criminals doesnt hold their guns like that here.

The reality is American trauma doctors are some of the most experienced and talented in the world, especially in Chicago.

You can get shot in the head these days and they can still save your life.

Very rrue but its also about where you are hit.

Seen someone that took i believe 4 or 5, 9mm and made a full recovery, nothing vital hit too bad.

Know of a guy that took one shot with a 22 handgun and was dead before he hit the ground. Didn't see either shooting just the aftermath.

I think they call it the golden hour if they can get you on the table and stabilize in that hour your chances are good.

Check out Kingston Ave in Philly....yeah, crimes down.
I guess if no one reports it

Yeah, he's Speaker of the House, an even higher position, in a much higher crime state. And he's not asking for deployments there. I wonder why?
You should ask him yourself. Be the change you want to see in the world.

<BC1>

And no, the violent crime rate is significantly higher in DC than LA (10.47 vs 5.48).

Nowadays they're using a $5 piece of plastic to convert 9mm Glocks into full auto. The penalty is (supposed to be) up to 10 years in prison and up to a $250,000 fine.
