Chandler sounds more respectful here towards Islam than he did in the pre-UFC 268 Press Conference...I guess he had his "Analyst Hat" on here instead of the heel trying to sell UFC 268 last week by saying "we don't care what Islam says" :) (understandable as he should try to promote UFC 268 at the press conference)

It's a 90 second clip so no need for Cliffs

Is this interview prior to or after the Gaethje fight?

His face looks clean here...

Just prior to his fight with Gaethje

*edit - funny thing if it was Islam we wouldn't be able to tell because his face looks the same before and after his fights, beast takes no damage

Islam is clearly head and shoulders above the rest of the division. However, I can see Dana blowing it by booking a rematch of the title fight between Poirier and Oliviera, then giving Gaethje the next shot, then Conor the next one after that. Then Islam gets a random injury and is shelved for a year. Then is forced to show he's back and win another fight. So probably in 3 or 4 years. Then maybe he's past his prime or just over it and ready to get fat and move on with life.

He'll lose a lot of interest from Abu Dhabi if he did that...I'm guessing he'll try to time it so that Islam fights for the title at the next Abu Dhabi PPV event

no way they deny Islam the fight by giving it to fuckin Conor? he won't just lose the interest of Aby Dhabi, UFC will become more a joke than boxing if they did that.

Ireland has just as much money as UAE. Conor is still the UFC cash cow and face of MMA. Islam has a looooong way to go.
If Conor "shows" he's ready, and especially if Poirier is champ, they absolutely pass on Islam.

can you prove any of those things? Ireland has more money than UAE? first of all, does Ireland even like Conor like that? from what i see it's a bunch of white Americans that support him more than actual Irish people. when he got bapped by Khabib the Irish media shit on him.

you really think the UFC would sacrifice the legitimacy of the sport for 1 payday? i don't.

You sound like the crowd that kept arguing on here that UFC would force Khabib to rematch Conor or strip him, and we saw how that turned out.

Conor went on a bender for a year and a half after that fight. Had Khabib not retired. I think that could have happened.
You have to pretend you are Dana White, not uber Islam fan for second. Conor winning another Cerrone-like comeback fight opens the door for him to jump the line and secure a rematch/title shot vs Poirier.
If you're Dana White, what's the greater story? UFC's most famous, brash fighter suffers fall from grace, works hard and achieves glory yet again? Or some nice guy with forgettable quotes who stays out of trouble from part of the world most Americans have no idea exists becomes champ?

No need to imagine because there's already a precedent.

Conor publicly asked for a rematch rematch Khabib numerous times...even Dana said it "made sense"...but Khabib said no (not until Conor earns it), guys like you kept chirping here about how Khabib will be forced to do as told etc...but in the end Khabib fought twice more and retired not only on his own terms but Dana practically begged him to return to no avail.

Look, I hope you're right.
But you should acknowledge that there are multiple scenarios that could prevent Islam from getting a title shot in the next year or two.
I think the most likely one is that Islam gets booked vs. Dariush who is absolutely the worst matchup in the division for him. Dariush has grappling prowess comparable to Islam and he's stronger. He also takes risks striking to land big shots. He is the exact answer to the question, "How do you beat Islam?"
Am I wrong or is this the most likely fight to be booked for both men unless they decide to hold out for a title shot?

Yeah there's a good chance that Islam vs Dariush gets booked, but a low chance that Dariush beats Islam ;)

He (Islam) looks awesome. He's got some really solid wins and seems to have turned it up this year by way sub finishes. Great 2021 campaign for Islam.

This shit gives me a headache. Can't you use white font? Not racist, woke, or whatever, but this color font is shit.

These damn immediate rematches are a bane.
