So you're concluding UFC pay is good by posting the disclosed payouts showing that a fringe top 10 p4p boxer who is about FLW sized made more in disclosed pay than 99 percent of UFC fighters? What FLWs or BWs in the UFC even make more than 500k in dislosed pay. Not to mention Barrios, who isn't even a real champion, pulled in half a million and probably some on the backend. Again, what UFC fighters outearn that?Quit complaining about fighter pay dipshits not like the fighters are the ones complaint just you bitches.
Did you ever stop to wonder why one would use average pay in a sport with such outlier athletes like Conor or Ronda instead of median?UFC pays damn well considering you only compete like 3 times a year. Yeah you train year round so what, that other thread said the average pay is in the 6 figures so whats the big fucking deal.
Preach. These dudes/dudettes are getting fucked over. Dana is always bragging about turning the UFC into a 7 billion dollar company. when it's time to pay fighters, it's all "muh fixed costs, inflation and sheeit", meanwhile the athletes don't even get 25% of the revenue split. it's been 18-20%ish for the last 10 to 15 years, right? surely as the promotion grows the talent's share should increase too. and OP's post is fucking asinine because as he's completely overlooking the exclusive venum deal, the shady shit in their contracts, like how dana and them will block you from testing free agency with their matchmaking, can't fight in different promotions (but you're a independent contractor, can't wear condom depot, but you're independent, can't partake in other combat sports without their approval, but hey you're independent).Well the entire argument is that fighters aren't paid well in proportion to total revenue/profit of the organization and sport.
That's really undeniable. The only fighters that do get paid their true worth or more are like McGregor, Khabib, maybe Jones, etc. A select few.
On the other hand, that's kind of how boxing has worked for awhile albeit with more frequent and more massive pay days for their stars. So yeah, I mean....Usman making 692k and Rose making 180k ish doesn't really get my dick hard about fighter pay. It's not horrible but it's also still not "fair"
Then you have to get it past the stubborn people's heads that ENTERTAINMENT and DRAW aka popularity, star power, controversy-drama, is really what makes money. Not necessarily merit. So someone like Oliveira might not be worth much compared to someone like CM Punk or Masvidal.
did you ever stop to think that ever comparing mma to other pro leagues is stupid? no you didn't, did you. wonder why that isDid you ever stop to wonder why one would use average pay in a sport with such outlier athletes like Conor or Ronda instead of median?
It's useful to get yardsticks of pay. But I'd say wage share is more useful, and if you're comparing pay, use median.did you ever stop to think that ever comparing mma to other pro leagues is stupid? no you didn't, did you. wonder why that is
I can't believe fans still think this motivates fighters to fight harder or some bullshit.also show and win is bullshit.
