It's useful to get yardsticks of pay. But I'd say wage share is more useful, and if you're comparing pay, use median.

I can't believe fans still think this motivates fighters to fight harder or some bullshit.
you dont have the brain power to think about this in a nuanced way and it's obvious

Says the guy who is arguing that we should use average instead of median pay and that fighters are paid for their fighting and not training apparently.

Boyfriend? LMAO I disagree with @avenue94 all the time, but I never resorted to insults. It’s possible to disagree without attacking each other
Pretty sure Dreyga would agree with my statement that we usually don't see eye to eye on UFC pay lol

thats cute now go hold hands in each others mentions, keep my account out of your pride month celebration homies

So you're concluding UFC pay is good by posting the disclosed payouts showing that a fringe top 10 p4p boxer who is about FLW sized made more in disclosed pay than 99 percent of UFC fighters? What FLWs or BWs in the UFC even make more than 500k in dislosed pay. Not to mention Barrios, who isn't even a real champion, pulled in half a million and probably some on the backend. Again, what UFC fighters outearn that?

Only really 3 of those matchups involve what you would consider the equivalent of UFC caliber fighters. The rest are the equivalent of regional mma talent and are earning the same as their counterparts.

Did you ever stop to wonder why one would use average pay in a sport with such outlier athletes like Conor or Ronda instead of median?

You nailed it. OP and ilk are low-IQ or disingenuous. . . and I bet I can accurately predict their political affiliations . . .

Lol ok brother. Either or question. If we want to get a picture of over all athlete compensation, does average or median pay give you a more accurate picture?

@Dreyga2000 where's my sherdog invitation to elope btw?

yawn, go wave your flag somewhere else homie, maybe the war room or the light weights

Reported pay is much different than actual pay.

It ultimately is not.

We know exactly how much the UFC has spent on fighters down to the penny from discovery in the class action lawsuit. They are paying an average of 18% of total revenue to fighters and it includes every single bonus, discretionary bonus, the insurance policy and even the performance institute.

These guys are getting table scraps in exchange for brain damage.

Mkay. Lemme know when you figure out how outliers work and how they skew averages.
lemme know when the ufc has a comparable business relationship with their athletes to other pro sports. actually don't bro you got enough of my dick in your mouth for one lifetime in just one thread smh

Done and done. You can compare their financials to Matchroom or Queensbury or other big boxing promoters. It's not a particularly flattering comparison in terms of executive compensation and athlete pay.

Damn, you have the strangest and most self-loathing fantasies I've heard of in some time. I hope you learn the power of self-respect someday.

This 18% rev split is absolute bullshit. The only thing worse is the “fans” who actually back up the UFC and justify their unjust treatment of the fighters who put their lives on the line for our entertainment. To compound the issue they are independent contractors who have no benefits for their families and aren’t allowed to test free agency or fight cross promotion (or platform I/e boxing) to make their fair wage. The only ones more disgusting than the promotion are the DW parrots that actually believe it’s fair and back the tyrannical billion dollar Corp. over the fighters who quite literally put their lives on the line and get shafted in the end. Our favorites like GSP, Andy, Jones, MM, Randy, etc etc etc have spoken out about the unfair treatment and yet you still would rather your money go towards DW and his 60th quarterly bonus…. Fucking disgusting.

Is it the ‘33 club because that’s when his contract is up?

Then you have to get it past the stubborn people's heads that ENTERTAINMENT and DRAW aka popularity, star power, controversy-drama, is really what makes money. Not necessarily merit. So someone like Oliveira might not be worth much compared to someone like CM Punk or Masvidal.

the other problem is, even some of the fighters themselves don't understand this part.
