Has anyone ever had to pull out of a fight during the event?

Imagine if it was Khamzat vs Leon. The main event is 2 fights away from starting. Leon is backstage warming up and, rip! His ACL tears in half, and he has to pull out of the fight. The main event can't happen now!

Has that ever happened before?

When it does happen one day, how will the UFC deal with it? Can they take a guy that already had 1 fight earlier in the day and put him in for a second fight that evening?

Didn't Tony trip on something?
That was before, at a press conference right?

I vaguely remember hearing someone like got injured or hurt before a fight old white fighter like coleman or Ken shamrock back in the day,but I also feel I'm wrong.

I do want to say it has happened before though. In just not sure.

Great question.

I've had to pull out of ... wait I read the rest of the headline.

Carry on.

UFC 213 Nunes was sick on fight day and pulled out vs shevchenko.

Way back UFC 3. 1 night tournament Royce was exhausted after war/win with Kimo and pulled out.
Similar with Whittaker vs. Gastelum. It was the day of the fight if not right after tge weigh ins that Rob got terribly ill and rushed to the ER.

Sean "The Destroyer" Loeffler, got hurt getting ready to walk out for UFC cant remember what the event was. I just remember watching it. Guy never got a fight in UFC then, always felt bad for the guy.

Ken Shamrock when he was supposed to fight Kimbo the first time. Seth Petruzelli stepped in with zero notice and destroyed Kimbo as well as the organization.
What a beautiful moment in mma history: unheralded (and somewhat mediocre) skill beating strength, hype, and money. I love it.

Yes, that was when Kelvin embarrassingly walked around saying he was champ.
