I’m pro 2nd and prior to Trump I would have said this argument was tired but electing Trump made it clear that the right is willing to elect literally anyone and now your scenario all of a sudden doesn’t seem so far fetched.

In the op case the gun owner was a felon and should never have had the weapon.

He should be given at least 10 years for a felon with a gun then more time for child neglect.

In the case you linked it was careless gun handling.

With rights come responsibility.
 
Secure your fucking guns if you have children. I have a 12 year old and 18 month old. Unless they cut off my hand to use my fingerprint, they can’t access any of my weapons.

This is a horrible, preventable tragedy . . . blaming guns isn't the problem here though.

Maybe if the so-called "good guys with guns" insisted on a third-party background check before transacting a private gun sale ex-cons like this POS dad wouldn't find it so easy to buy a gun. Better yet, there should be a federal law demanding that all private gun sales in every state require a background check.

No stupid irresponsible adults kill kids. The gun didn’t leave itself in the kids reach the parent did.

The difference is a child that has no right to have the gun and an adult that does.

The adult that has that right has the obligation.

The same as the girl friend of a felon that buys him a gun.
