The palestinians were offered numerous proportions in the past by different Israeli PMs, Olmert offererd them more than 90% of what was in 67, they always refused. And when Israel unilaterally evacuated from the strip and removed settlements it only got more radical and anti-Israeli with the added benefit or rockets flying from there.
Both sides share blame in this but its not a unilateral thing.
 
It should be pretty clear to anyone that goes on CNN that they're dealing with a propoganda mill, so they have to be prepared to act accordingly.

You should already have a good idea of where they're going to attempt to take the interview, so having some rebuttals like that on hand is never a bad idea.

So if an israeli was interviewed and he answered the opposite answer to the opposite question it would've been ok?
This just leaves each side entrenched in their position without a way for a solution.

Nonsense - Israel is categorically not targeting civilian structures.
Air strikes would not be happening if Hamas wouldn’t be firing huge salvos of rockets intending to hit civilian targets. Eviction of home owners in Sheihk Jarah does not justify 800+ missiles fired at civilians.
Stupidity of the left in its inability to hold Palestinian leaders responsible for their actions due to asymmetric warfare, it’s utter nonsense.

And in any worldview, what would attacking innocent bystanders and burning down synagogues accomplish besides more bloodshed?
