It was definitely dividing. I watched friends turn on each other in those threads about the lawsuit on the old hockey forums.I didn't think it was that dividing.
I vaguely remember thought that as they fell, Bertuzzi's forearm was on the back of Moore's neck and Bertuzzi's like 260lbs?
Not that anyone deserves a broken (freakin?) neck, but some I knew was apparently in the Harvard system while Moore was there and he's apparently a ass.
The side that liked old time hockey and considered this just accidental damage from a legit receipt because Moore was trying to make a name for himself headhunting a superstar was quite large
It was heavily thought that Claude Lemieux's hit on Draper was far more intent to Injure than Bertuzzi's punch. Because Lemieux had a track record of trying to take guys out
There were also dudes posting videos on how Moore only wears the neck brace when in court for show and then instantly ripped it off when out of court, etc
Players testified that Moore was in a jacuzzi partying 2 weeks after that incident with no neck brace on.
Posts about how Moore realized he could get more career money by suing Bertuzzi than playing and how it was basically insurance fraud...it got quite ugly lol
Keep in mind Moore was suing for $60 million. His career was a call up 4th line energy guy who made 500k.
