2025 Motorsports Thread

Lando was acting like a baby in the cool down room, so I’m glad the team screwed him. Oscar was sticking to the delta to save the tire, but lando was clearly not, and trying to increase his lead.

"He's in a car which should win every race, basically. He has to beat one or two other drivers, that's it. Fair play to him, he's still doing the job he has to do."

Remember when lando said this about Lewis? The McLaren isn’t as dominant as the Merc, but shouldn’t he be beating Oscar every race?

Kyle Busch really screwed us out of a good finish there.

Also why did Nascar allow Larson to move up from 3rd to 1st when Keselowski had to pit right before the green flag and let him control the restart? Made no sense. Blaney should have controlled that restart and Larson should have been black flagged for jumping the start.

Hearing rumors now that Russell may be penalized or disqualified. Car underweight
Just heard that now. They don’t do a lap which allows them to pick up rubber at spa. Just straight to parc ferme. Let’s see how it plays out

Is this the same thing that Charles and Lewis got dq’d for in US i believe?

That apparently one part of it. Two others are related to the one stop strategy - additional tire wear and lack of the one extra pit lane mean they used more fuel.

Looks like it was also a worn skid plate like Lewis in cota last year. Thats rough. The team could have used the 1,2.
Good to see Lewis get his second win of the year after he passed Perez on the start and leclerc later on.

Austin Dillon wrecking everyone on purpose on the last lap to win Richmond. Wonder if there are going to be rule changes?

I'll just say it, F1s race today was utterly boring and my McLaren excitement is dying down

Yes, McLaren should have made the team orders incumbent on Oscar being able to close the gap to Lando. Instead, having made an unnecessary promise, the situation devolved into a poisonous battle of wills. Result is that team harmony is seriously undermined. They clearly have the fastest car at this point but are prone to errors that will hurt their chances at dethroning Max.

I know this is old but I'm just catching up on this.

I think Lando screwed up by not letting Oscar pass him within the first 1-2 laps after his team told him to. I understand he wanted to make a point, but (and correct me if I'm wrong) if Lando had given position back, could he not have tried to overtake Oscar for the remainder of the race? If he had passed Oscar then it's all fair play . Unless the team would have told Lando not to attempt to battle Oscar for first.

Also Max.....normally one of my favorite drivers....but what a little baby in this race. Also, did you know he was up until like 3am on the racing sim? Wasn't sure if that was mentioned 20x on the broadcast or not.
