It wasn't that bad it wasn't that great either imo seeing Dallas make it to the finals was awesome though

Bunch of things went kind of wrong:

1) East got decimated with injuries at the wrong time. Heat with Butler, Knicks with a bunch of folks, Pacers with Tyrese etc. Embiid came back late in season but wasn't the same and played disgracefully. Edit: Forgot about the Bucks also being fucked over with injuries.

2) The aging legends and big West Coast teams were a non-factor -- Lebron, Curry, Durant all grab big headlines but either missed the playoffs or were gone early

3) Inconsistent officiating in general - including referees putting the whistles away in 2 or 3 games of the Denver/Minnesota series so that it was officiated unlike any other series or games during regular season helped ruin the West

4) Emerging / young league stars not there yet to replace the aging ones - Edwards so hyped but totally fizzled in the WCF, Oklahoma being Oklahoma and with SGA and Chet etc don't have gravitas to be part of big narratives and plot lines, Wemby of course still needs to grow, Luka just had no support in the finals.

5) Continued overall degradation in how the sport is covered in the media just makes it overall less interesting.

Edit: 6) ECF, WCF, and Finals all boring because so lopsided series.

The season was rigged AF after the Lakers won the real championship

It is of course "interesting" that after a small market team wins the Chip last year, you get the two most favored /followed /historically loved teams in the NBA winning the two biggest prizes this year.

Kyrie no showing for long stretches only adds to LeGOAT's legacy

Yeah that would make sense if Kyrie didn't average 27 ppg (more than anyone on the Warriors), hit the championship winning shot, and carry LeCan almost a decade ago while the refs tried to eject and suspend every Warriors player.

Off season gonna be more exciting than the Finals.

Pfizer P resigning with Clips
Ingram to Clips
Ghey Thompson to Clips

Can't wait for a roster of washed up all stars and losing in the 1st round again. LMAO!
The funniest thing to me in the PeliCANs finally have a good 1 and 2 (despite Zions limitations) and they're getting rid of their most consistent player because they are a poverty franchise.

Danny Ainge better get a ring too.

Obviously Dallas can still get better and grow from this, but they don’t seem like a roster that I would expect making this type of run again. We’ll see who they add. Kyrie is not getting any better. The role players have limited upside beyond just being role players.

As a lifelong Nuggets fan (for real), all this talk about Luka coming to Denver, while probably unrealistic, is something I wouldn't want to see anyway as far as parity in the league. They would probably win like ten championships and it will just derail the sport like when KD sold out to GS. Fuck that. I like the NBA hating the low market team that was built from the ground up. Those championships are more meaningful.

I would suspect;

Safe: Luka, Kyrie, DJJ, Gaff, DLive, PJ, Green, Hardy, OMAX

Gray Zone: Exum and Kleber

Trades: Morris, A.J. Lawson, Dwight Powell, and possibly THJ. I don't think they will let go of anyone else unless a special deal comes along.

Yeah for sure, and Tim Hardaway Jr.'s contact is just about to expire, his was a four-year contract worth $75,000,000 guaranteed, an average annual salary of $18,750,000.

So we'll have some space to move a decent piece in, without losing anything in the short term.

Yea, thing is, people every year think its curtains for THJ and he somehow sticks around year after year.

What a front runner. Bahamas will be unstoppable.

By playing in overseas markets, these old, injured washed up players get to put up big numbers, get treated like kings and have harems of the hottest women in Taiwan / the Bahamas.. it's not a bad deal.
