Jokic is fundamentally a different player. He is high touch but doesn't hold onto the ball as he's setting screens and doing dribble handoffs and is most intent on creating opportunities for the highest percentage team shot not necessarily creating his own shot. It's why he's the true unicorn of the league. Odds on him getting MVP again have really shortened lately. -600ish now.

Denver barely getting past the deadly Trail Blazers weird for a super team to struggle so hard. Sure the 2 top stars are out but Denver is a super team. Reality is Virtus Bologna gives them a hard game without Jokic and Murray.

It turned out to be a good decision. Escape with a win, get their best guys a load management rest. Jokic is a crazy +51 in the expected wins department on cleaningtheglass. Not a perfect statistic by any stretch, but surely indicative it's not a superteam, and they are totally dependent on him as being a system within a player.
