I know this sounds insane after that first half onslaught by the Celtics but with the lead trimmed to 21, this game is still winnable. Fuck Game 2, they could still win this game if they trim another 10 of the lead in the 3rd.

Mavs have come back from 20+ this playoffs already so it’s not out of the question. However it won’t happen unless they ramp it up defensively and match their energy. They flourish off of turnovers but they haven’t been forcing many in this game. They can’t shoot that effective forever, but a lot of that was due to bad rotations or close outs minus the occasional heat check. They have always lived or died from the 3.

A lot of things aligned against the Mavs here, low energy, roll players looking shook and not even taking opening shots, I saw both Kleber and DJJ pass on wide open 3's, and then you have the Boston crowd going nuts and Poor-Zingus scoring 18 in the first half which he is not going to be able to do every game.
