Aaaaand Embiid now about to miss those last few games to be ineligible for any end of season awards oooof.

When Bird was brought up yesterday I started looking at some old highlight reels and came across the Celtcs/76'ers ECF that went 7 games in 1981. In that series the 76'ers went up 3-1 and ultimately lost in 7 to Bird's Celtcs. Its crazy Bird took one of the worst teams in the league and won the Finals in his 2nd season. In the 1978-79 season the Celtics went 29-53, the following season when Bird was a rookie they went 61-21, and then in his second season they went 62-20 and won the Finals. Bird basically transformed a 29 win team into a 60 win team instantaneously.

Yeah, the immediate impact he had was pretty incredible. Guy was so damn good. Very few people had both the confidence and skills of Bird.

It’s funny to see the other boomer chime in like clockwork. Probably the only time he doesn’t post the YouTube videos he jerks off to. Lmao
They gotta cling to their past because they don't have a future. That's all I can think of. It's honestly kinda weird being that obsessive over it. Like, I think Fedor is the GOAT in human cock fighting. I don't feel the need to tell everyone lol.

Gdamn Stephen Gay hates Luka.

Here's today's Basketball Reference model:

of course, Brunson is there, at a 0.9% chance. Of course, someone like Sabonis, who has the numbers to have double the probability of deserving to win over Brunson will never get a single second of MVP chatter ever from these talking heads.

Embiid has been tanking as of late as the 76ers go down the standings and his GPs lag the field. Anyhow, I don't think it's right to dunk on Embiid, I think really this year he's been playing more like an MVP than the previous three TBH. But robbing Big Honey last year was a disgrace, the guy basically averaged a triple-double on 70+ True Shooting on a 1 seed - even after bottling it up last year to intentionally lose the award. Truly an embarrassment for the league; I really lost the vast majority of interest in the award this year. Of course, it doesn't help that Yoke seems uninterested in winning.

A couple weeks ago I was telling folks a smart bet might be on SGA as Embiid would struggle to meet the GP requirement, and Yoke could bottle it up again to deliberately lose again. But to hear the "pundits" talk about Brunson reminds me of a few years ago someone was pushing for Chris Paul as MVP, literally stating how he motivates everyone so much, including the cleaning crew of the arena. Pure trash analysis.

Brunson certainly deserves to be in there over Sabonis. His impact and value to his team is much more important than Sabonis’. Sabonis has always been a great stat guy but not a number one you can rely on to lead a team.

There’s a reason everyone made a huge deal about Brunson being snubbed as an all star starter and we haven’t heard one peep about Sabonis.
