There's a giant gulf between 1) working on optimal pricing and 2) collusion.

There's no evidence Buttigieg was involved in 2), correct?
Correct. McKinsey isn't stupid and neither is Pete. Just corrupt.

That was a disingenuous framing by Appelbaum, especially after High Hopes Pete disputed and answered the claims previous in the interview. It's the same garbage Abby Phillip threw out there in the debate. It's too bad too because I think it is an interesting question of why he struggles to align with the younger generation, doesn't present the same anger towards these things despite his proximity to it, and why that proximity hasn't stoked any anger. He was given an out and just talked about his hometown and didn't reflect on his work or military history and why he's not angrier about it.

I do think it is amazing (and embarrassing) that he just found out that one of clients was involved in a price fixing scandal.
Agreed. Pete’s a phony, but that question missed the mark and was unfair, dare I say, deliberately unfair so he could flip the script...

What evidence do you have that Buttigieg is corrupt?
He started taking corporate money and changed his policies. Money in politics is corrupting. In many ways Pete made better arguments for M4A than Bernie does before he sold out. He's a smart motherfucker. But Bernie is a rock.

I'll say it again, I was annoyed when Bloomberg announced his candidacy but now I'm loving his campaign.

A real Billionaire attacking Trump really gets under his skin.

I actually know a few people who are on this media team having worked at Bloomberg for years. They brought over a few of my recruiters to help staff their campaign as well. From what I’m being told, he’s running this with way more focus than he has his company in the last few years. He’s been so focused on philanthropy that growth has really gone down there.

Fun fact, he’s such a weird dude that when he visited the Princeton office we had to have toast of varying degrees of burnt laid out for him. He also needs popcorn available at all times.

In a meeting he cracked me up talking about traffic. “I wouldn’t really know, I haven’t driven my own car in a decade...but I do fly my own helicopter.”

For a REAL inside scoop, if he wins be prepared for him to sell the company to Alphabet.

Bloomberg is my main tax research tool

Great product

Yeah that was one of things that confused me at first.

He had to know he'd be helping their campaigns.

But I guess he doesn't care much which Dem wins. He just wants to be able to spend his money freely to defeat Trump.

Commendable

He's an extreme example of so many things wrong in politics today between the money, incestuous and perverting relationship with the media, riding whatever political wave is convenient for him, and an asymmetric application of the rules. But he knows whats best for you, so he's got that going for him

Pete wrote a thesis on Bernie Sanders. It’s actually a good read but also tragic now that Pete has become the antithesis of what he once admired.

“Left wing billionaire”

Calling that title an oxymoron is an understatement- it’s simply fucking retarded.

Money in politics is corrupting.

I agree that it often is.

He started taking corporate money and changed his policies
Medicare for All? Pretty sure Buttigieg never came out in support of the Sanders bill or any other single-payer bill.

Buttigieg did tweet support for "Medicare for All" in 2018, but I don't agree that this necessarily means Buttigieg supported the Sanders bill. This is problem with clever marketing names like "Medicare for All"---people can take them to mean a lot of different things. "Single-payer" doesn't sound as sexy and I'd bet it polls lower.

Buttigieg also did make past statements about single-payer being the "moderate" choice, with an NHS-style system being the "left" choice and a Swiss-style system being the "right" choice. His "Medicare for All who want it" is an attempt to transition to single-payer, but he says that it's not important to him if people are insured through a (regulated) private plan or through the government plan as long as we reach universal coverage.

I could have missed some of his past statements though, so please update me if you have them.

Only in the US a billionaire ghoul arguing for regressive taxation can be unironically called ''left wing'' lol.

The Clinton clan continues to harm the USA (Lockhart is a long-time Clinton operative)

Yawn... is everyone still super goddamn bitchy and passive aggressive and focused on breaking off votes to Trump?

Wake me up when this foolishness is over.

It's funny when they use their sheer and utter dishonesty against a lefty. If for nothing else, I'd like Lefties to wake up to CNN's horseshit tactics.

Pete had an excellent answer to this that didn't get the good press it deserved. His response to one of Warren's hypocritical shots at him was to ask her whether or how much she was corrupted by the big money she took. Served two purposes. Calling her out on bullshit, and answering the "third person effect" purity test (I can stay pure taking big money but other people can't) flawlessly by showing that her taking big money didn't corrupt her. It's a bunch of horseshit that you're falling for here, and you should stop falling for horseshit. Sanders is straightforward and consistent on the issue, but he's also a zealot and probably just wrong.

The Sanders base has no illusions about CNN, as the Sanders bros in this thread can confirm.

At the same time it's disturbing + fascinating to watch CNN and NYT work overtime to prop up Warren. There is something seriously wrong anyone who has followed the Warren/Sanders dispute and is taking Warren's side.

It's embarrassing to watch, and it's the same tactics they use against Trump. Pretending that there is no other viewpoint. As if you would be insane to believe Bernie over Warren, and 99% of the country agrees with them. It's obnoxious and insulting to the viewer. They are the worst cable news network on the air. 24/7 propaganda. Worse than Fox News, and that's saying something.

Here is a link to Michael Moore's hour-long podcast about the Sanders/Warren rift.

The short version is that Moore is convinced that Warren is lying. Moore then goes into an in-depth discussion of many public falsehoods Warren has told about her own background, including her claim that her father was a janitor, her claims of N.A. ancestry, and her claim that she was the first woman to take the NJ bar exam while nursing a baby.
