C'mon man. I'm talking about a more centrist approach, someone who's not going to push the polarization even further. Someone who's not going to campaign based on "my opponent is literally Hitler" or everything is a human right. Things need to cool down. I'm positive that anyone who brings that kind of attitude will do well. Otherwise Dems will scare people away from them (I don't care about this tbh) . And it will be difficult to bring the party closer to center again. (But I do care about this as I think it can ignite a hardline reactionary movement).

Work with who, I think is my question.

That the people who showed up to the tea-party and OWS protests should work together? Sure.

That we need to work with the political parties, media, and corporations who are responsible for where we are today? Fuck that, get the tar and feathers.

Yeah, except they don't exist.

Those types of left-wingers have never existed. It's a stereotype dating back to the Vietnam War era that conservatives repeatedly use to claim that educated and principled people are naive and ignorant because they don't support policies that those conservatives cannot defend on their merits. Basically, the line of logic is that if you don't accept the cruelty of policies that have no political or intellectual justification, then you're stupid and uninformed.

The people that do really exist? Those that tricks themselves into supporting politicians and parties with policies that they do not support on the basis of idiotic identity political stereotypes like those.
You exist.

@VivaRevolution @xcvbn

Since you guys are fans, did you catch Gabbard's appearance on Colbert? I was not impressed. For a candidate whose biggest appeal is subversion of political orthodoxy, she could have maybe flaunted her military service less. Her very first pitch on her candidacy was to the effect of "through my service in the American armed forces, I learned the value of giving one's life toward a higher purpose."

Fucking barf.

I was far less impressed by Colbert's performance.

I don't blame Gabbard one bit for beating the drum on her service when every other question she is asked is questioning her motives with meeting Assad.

I mean she has answered those questions over and over. What part of her answer is found wanting? Why do they feel the need to keep asking it?

I would be lying to you if I acted like I didn't turn the interview off shortly after that first answer. Military worship is my kryptonite. Even a bit of it makes me physically ill.

I know so many people who would vote for the worst candidate ever, if they were only a veteran.

This one retired Navy guy I know, who thinks Iran is the Devil, would be the prototype for this Ilk.

Can't win elections without low info voters. They outnumber us 10 to 1.

Shit that is why her being on the debate stage is so important. Allot of well intentioned Hawks out there, that need to hear her point of view.

Beto says he's running. Thank god. I love Warren but America isn't voting for her ass, Bernie and Biden are too old, and the rest is a shlop of cans that'll get rekt by Trump. Beto's literally the only one that can pull it off

Does Nate Silver’s opinion have credibility here? He believes Yang is a serious candidate.

Plus I am tired of Republicans always taking the we support the Military more then Democrats line. It's so insane in so many ways yet becomes the watermark of Republicans.

People like Tulsi can push back on these lines. She was an early supporter of Bernie Sanders an she closes an important position in the party. It's hard for Republicans to throw we are bigger Patriots while they cannot wait to drag us into another war for oil.

Illegal and immoral foreign policy is mine. Tulsi, Bernie, and yang are my trio

Tulsi on top bc of her massive balls. Flying jets, and meeting Assad! The Assad meeting endears me, because our entire media/goverment complex was telling America to support al qaeda and isis and to get the Christians slaughtered.

Bless that woman

Bodacious, rad, Marvy. Maybe he will kickflip America into economic regression, or maybe get a drum circle of white guilt.

Dude is a dork.

A rich, white privileged son of a judge, from a family of billionaires, whose name is Robert. Not Beto

Yeah, I mean "serious candidate" is kind of arbitrary and I don't think a person with no political experience has much of a shot in an electorate that still values institutional competence. But we'll see.

His name is Beto. He's been called Beto since he was a baby. The "no, he's Robert!!!" shtick from conservatives is classic obsession with identity politics, and the expectation that he should change the name he's been going by since childhood so that it doesn't seem like he's pandering to minorities or betraying his ethnic heritage is gross.

A communist who hates military worship? You won’t get far in the party with those opinions comrade, a re-education camp would def be in your near future

I know Beto from Texas but his largest donors are from oil companies not small donors. Only Katrine Harris an Cory get more Corporate money as a percentage I believe? You know he's going to have a big IOU on him.

His voting record has not been talked about an it apparently leads to more big corporate favor. He's intelligent but he has more in common with neoliberals then people really know.

Yeah, I agree. I don't think that's relevant to his name, though.

He’s straight up pandering to minorities. His name is Robert, and he’s a rich white boy
