A huge question of the 2020 campaign is who former President Barack Obama will endorse.

A primary field including both Sen. Kamala Harris, D-Calif., and former Vice President Joe Biden could make the choice especially tricky since they would likely be the top contenders for his backing.

Harris, a first-term senator who also served as California's attorney general, declared her candidacy for president Monday, while Biden, himself a longtime former senator, has yet to decide whether to launch a campaign.

Ahhhh sweet, the Bernie or bust rhetoric and cannibalism of the left already happening. Usually have to wait till primary season for the laughs, but the entertainment comes early this year.

Two sources with direct knowledge of his plans told Yahoo News that Sanders, an independent and self-described “democratic socialist,” plans to announce his presidential bid imminently. While Sanders has been considering a bid for months, one of the sources said he was emboldened by early polls of the race that have consistently showed him as one of the top candidates in a crowded Democratic primary field. In particular, the source said Sanders was heartened to see numbers indicating he is one of the leading candidates among African American and Latino voters, two groups he was perceived as struggling with in 2016.

Richard Ojeda ends 2020 presidential bid

Former West Virginia state Sen. Richard Ojeda ended his 2020 presidential bid before most of the Democratic candidates who are expected to run entered the race.

Ojeda conceded that his campaign was not winnable.

“I don’t want to see people send money to a campaign that’s probably not going to get off the ground,” he said in a video provided to The Intercept on Friday.

Ojeda, a retired Army major, launched his presidential campaign in November, becoming one of the first Democrats to enter the race.[/QUOTE]

It's annoying enough to run just for the media attention but to then also drop out right after somehow makes it worse. I wish I never listed him in the OP.

In his defense he's new to the game after serving for I think 20 years in the military, and he was still fired up after losing the mid terms.

I hope he joins Bernie's campaign. Listen more talk less but still help rile up the midwest blue collar types.

I think he had a better chance in 2016 tbh. I am interested in knowing how well he does in California. I'm assuming not well but that's a very unresearched guess.

54-46 against the political machine

Will be tough to be a CA senator but I think he can and even if he doesnt it wont be anywhere near the end. Harris could never beat Trump and the rest of the primary states will vote knowing that

Why? He's has the notoriety now and can raise scraps from the peasants at a good rate. Its not like corporate or moderates of the dem donor base are going to throw any backing his way. He could be an Indy that makes a difference

I think he understands running third party means the democrat candidate will lose and the GOP candidate wins. Our system is built to favor a two party general election so unless you are playing spoilers for a party, you pick a primary to run in and accept that the winner gets to advance to the general election.

Why couldn't a popular independent win in the GE. I really don't see why the traditional two party system would favor trump if the premise I keep hearing is that Bernie would sway a heavy amount of trump AND democratic voters.
