I think this juxtaposition is misleading for two reasons.

1) Some things are more difficult than others. Writing a decent news article is vastly easier than performing a successful heart transplant. A "random off the street" has a decent chance of writing a quality news article.

The example was just meant to illustrate a point about acquiring knowledge and expertise and was not meant as an analogy. Of course I agree with you here (heart transplant is much more difficult than writing a decent article). An average person does not have a decent chance of writing a quality news article, though. It requires knowledge of the subject matter and lots of practice writing. The average person doesn't know jack shit about much and writes really poorly. Even above average folks, like college students, often have trouble finishing a bullshit 3 page paper.

2) For-profit corporations employ most of the "journalists" you write of, and their margins benefit greatly from quantity over quality and sensationalism/exaggeration. That is, there is a strong built-in incentive for MSM to do a bad job.

Agreed, the incentives work against quality journalism. But still, the good journalists have high quality education and years of writing experience.

Putting aside the timeline (I don't know your perspective there), I think one of Bernie's big failures last time was his inability to curb the crazies in his coalition. Bringing in Sirota shows that he didn't learn from that and he's actually making it worse.

Bernie's big failure was lending his support to that failure of a DNC candidate after getting railroaded.

I think the media spent a disproportionate amount of time covering Trump's antics because it was good for ratings, not out of hostility towards him. Ironically, by putting Trump in the spotlight they gave him a platform... which was likely a big contributing factor in why he won the primary and possibly even the general election.

Its hysterical that nobody cares that this guy has no experience and no platform but he's a top 1, 2, or 3 candidate for POTUS.

An admission that there's a better way forward, that the next generation will ultimately decide the fate of our great nation. And that message should be carried by a person of that generation. While Bernie's courage and conviction are admirable (Mayor Pete once wrote a JFK Profiles national award-winning high school essay on the courage of then-congressman Bernie Sanders), the elder statesman represents a faction of cynicism that is in some ways not very different from the cynicism that put over Donald Trump. That cynicism is preventing us from moving forward on matters of consensus. Sanders has a voice that we want in government, but he is not the leader this country needs at an inflection point like the one before us today.

I really hope Biden wins the nomination.

He has a LONG record of legislation that is detestable to both modern Democrats, and the Alt-Left. He has a centrist base in the early primary states, and that may lead him to win the majority of delegates, but in the later stages when there's only a few candidates left it's going to be completely unpredictable how who will eventually win the most delegates. The possibility of this going all the way to the convention is juicy.

Whoever wins the nomination at the convention is a guaranteed loser in the general. Too many splits in the party to form a winnable coalition against a sitting President.

Frankly, we've never faced a moment quite like this. And while that's technically true about every "moment" we face, there is a sense that this moment is special. The energy that elected Donald Trump - the energy of dissatisfaction and pessimism - is the same energy driving the populism on the left. It's time to break free of the negativity that has engulfed our politics. Bernie Sanders makes good honest criticisms of the power structure and iniquities inherent to the system, but his message lacks the optimism that will lift us free of our inertia.

No dude. I got the information with my eyes. I recognized fox news bias for years, didn't watch because of it, then saw the same thing on CNN. I'm not subscribing to any group notion, or coming up with any "theory." It was obvious, I saw it, and that's it.

True, Uncle Joe is uninspiring but we can do much worse (like the sitting president).

Also, given the odds are high that Republicans maintain control of the Senate, we're going to have to live with little to no policy regardless of the president.

If we're going to be Never Trump it has to be NEVER (not Never Trump if I like the candidate).
