As a former PSU supporter, I don't see it as a rivalry either. They got to the B10 way too late in the game for it to matter to OSU fans. I'd say that Michigan State is more a legit B10 rivalry for them, as they actually have a trophy for it. Hell, Notre Dame could join the B10 in football and have more of a rivalry with OSU as a football blue blood.

So much bull shit going on about how the number 4 spot should pan out. Can we just call out the obvious solution?

The playoffs should be the Power 5 Champs and 3 at large bids for group of 5 and independents based on resume. Let's stop with this top 4 nonsense already.

I would love to see OSU lose, but I need them to win to keep Alabama's chances down. I have a feeling the committee is looking for a reason to put Bama in the playoffs.

I always have that feeling. I dunno how to fix the playoffs, I feel like you have the same problems moving to 8 or taking champs, some conferences are just plain better. I do think increasing it to 8 would make sure more deserving teams got in though, even if they were just there to get styled on by the top seeds.

Yeah but going to 8 ensures all power 5 champs make it, and 3 at larges are enough to help out the group of 5 and independents based on merit. At least more so than only one spot for a final 4.

I’ll honestly be surprised if Bama gets by Auburn. It’s in Auburn and their defense is nasty. I don’t think the Bama OL can protect Jones long enough for him to make throws. And the Bama run game is weak. Auburn will stuff that. I expect a low scoring affair, with Auburn taking a close one.
