Citizens United was overhyped from what this election is showing. Super PACs have been not as effective as people worried they would.

I don't believe it was overhyped it's just that people like Bernie Sanders and even to a lesser extent Donald Trump have proven that people in America are tired of politicians that are beholden to their corporate pimps. It's definitely been useful to candidates before but there is a real wave of momentum change going on in America right now.

It was overplayed if you look at both races. Jeb's Super PAC did nothing. Other campaigns like Perry and Walker didn't manage their actually campaign money well enough and went bankrupt while their SuperPACs had decent money left. Sanders and Rand don't even use them. They haven't been effective at all.

I'm pretty sure Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio are enjoying their super PAC money by now. And the only reason Trump doesn't have one is because he's already rich. Those people you mentioned just suck anyway.

The point is they didn't change anything. Jeb had 100 mill in SuperPAC money and it got him nowhere. You're points are just that they are being used. It all depends on how that money is managed. It's clear that Jeb Bush and others didn't have effective campaigns and didn't correctly utilize the money available to them. Rubio and Cruz are the opposite side of the spectrum where the money has actually helped to them to knock Trump down a peg.
