We’ll know soon enough how much of the electorate was made up of women. Early-voting numbers, though, show that women’s share of the electorate has surged — by several percentage points compared to 2012, according to Drew Brighton of the voting-data firm TargetSmart. According to the firm’s breakdown of 46.3 million early votes, 56 percent were cast by women — consistent with earlier reports of big turnout among women. And that proportion was about the same across just about every age group, as well as among both women who are newly registered and those who’ve been on the rolls for longer. If the final vote tallies are consistent with the early ones, that could provide a boost to Clinton, who led by big margins among women in polls but trailed among men.

Foolish stuff. Silver is about the only guy out there making concession to the uncertainty of Trump populism in this election, and has been consistent and cautious since the end of the primaries. It's hilarious how his opinion is dismissed by you guys, yet he's the only important guy who gives weight to your side of the argument.

And really? You think that the state with license plates saying "Life free or die" doesn't have some hardcore rednecks? I've been hunting in New Hampshire before and I member some guys with necks so red you'd guess they were wearing scarves...

I was driving home through New Hampshire early one morning, stopped for gas, went in to pay, and there were a dozen hunters in full gear with guns slung over their shoulders inside. It was pretty intimidating.
