Pretty much, they had the entire buffet right stereotypes, and Donald just stood out more than anyone, he get's huge press, and even if realistically he only got like 10% of the eligible primary voters, that was enough to win him the nomination, especially since many GOP states are winner take all in the primary. By the time it got down to 3-4 candidates, the rules had been set, go crazy or go home.

I'm not gonna pretend to be anything but ignorant regarding RNC primary, but if the GOP could have just trimmed their field to say Rubio, Jeb, Kasich and Trump maybe all the Carson/Fiorina/Cruz votes could have gone to one of the other guys and easily beaten Trump?

Do you guys think much won't come in by 8? I'm considering whether or not to skip BJJ

I'm skipping BJJ tonight. Between my check engine light on my car needing attention before I drive far to BJJ (80 miles each way) and the election, I'll just try and get a work out in at home tonight instead.

My girls family is full hillary simply because they think Trump will close off relations with Cuba. I attempted to argue with them (I can't beleive I tried) about the negatives surrounding clinton, yet all they had for me was "but taxes".....made me vote Trump

Do you think they maybe had too many candidates compared with a fractured voter base. It seems like GOP voters are either just a nudge to the right or they are full blown extreme far right. Meaning the two sides on the same ticket can't even get along?
There were two many people in the primaries and Trump did a great job of being very vocal and playing to the anti-establishment folks. Add to this the real right wing/libertarians talking heads, looking at Hanity and Rush, and you get the fringe of the party holding the most sway.

They would have definitely preferred a smaller field, but even that might not have helped. A lot of Carson votes would have gone to Donald, probably Cruz too, and Fiorina was never really a factor. Jeb, Rubio, and Kasich fighting over the sane GOP vote was too much when Donald's base was so secure. I mean, once you're a Trump voter, what is going to convince you to change your mind? He made those guys all look like cardboard cutouts or your boring uncle.

I'm drinking instead of Muay Thai tonight, if that helps you decide :)

Gave up my TML tickets to watch tonight -- do what you do best america, entertain!

Is there much talk about overall higher levels of voter participation this election?

I don't think it was politically motivated but I am still trying to figure out what his motive would be. I mean wtf your not suppose to be asking for that shit.
