2014 War Room Awards

You should just be counting your lucky stars that I don't have the time to be on here more often. You focusing on my use of one word or another is a very obvious diversion to the fact that I pretty much just undercut and destroy almost all of your very transparent ideological positions.
Watch out, we've got a badass here.

Why you gotta hate on Worldstar?

When I spank my kid I yell "Worldstar!!!" while filming with a IPhone 0.5 in portrait mode. Plus that's where I found RiFF RaFF.

The WSHH audience needs to learn that guns are to be held vertical and phones side ways, not the other way around.

Yeah, I count them, but I can't count that high, so I am unsure just how many lucky stars I have. I am not sure I could handle another embarrassing moment of someone pointing out a misspelling/typo of the gooey hippie center of the universe.

Yeah if I were you I'd focus on when I pointed out a misspelling too, rather than the pages of me exposing you for the shill you are.

But what about grading papers up to 18 hours a day?

Best mod : Zank obviously

Best poster : falsedawn. Guy is solid.

Worst poster : JVS. Great when it comes to economics but his generalizations about the right and southerners gets tired.

Fav posters : Ghost and Pan. Ghosts military stuff is just plain awesome. And Pan is well educated with consistently well thought out posts.

Funniest poster: Jukai. I disagree with him alot but his dead pan sarcasm and use of gifs gets the lulz.

That's ridiculous. No bot has so little personality.
lol

Nevermind this cop's gun aimed at your pets, or his dirty frisking hands aimed at your wives, sisters, daughters, girlfriends etc.

His tongue/keyboard is razor sharp.

Umm, ok, nhbbear is the funniest poster. This is not debatable at this point.

in my experiences in dealing with him the kid is a massive bullshit artist. he'll make claims saying accusing you of shit, & when you ask him to back it up he refuses to do so. poor quality poster.

So when all is said and done I got nominated for:

Biggest Sweden hater
Worst poster on the entire site.

LucaswiththeLidOff's religious trolling has been vastly underappreciated itt. As has sodapopinsky's SJW phase.

JVS-OldGoat was the rivalry of the year. Zankou is the best poster but Uchi Mata sounds like Zank-lite sometimes. Ben and James Keith are the most articulate right-wingers with kpt and Possum Jenkins supporting the left. The crazies are obvious and probably don't need to be named at this point, but IDL and ripskater tend to fly under the radar because of their politeness. TheQu and Gotti were missed. Jukai, Nicky, and ultra are the funniest. Dochter, pan, and Ruprecht are solid posters that make their final standings hard to pin down.

That's all, thanks for all the entertainment WR.

I'm not a regular fixture here, but I do come in occasionally. Here's my awards:

Best Poster: Rama, with Like a Bas as a close second.

Funniest Poster: Bear brings the lulz.

Biggest CT'er: That one is obvious. But I'll say this as well... IDL cannot be rustled, seems like a pretty genuinely nice guy and as crazy as he sounds sometimes (Most times, imho. Sorry, man) I don't think he's trolling. And he's willing to stick to those beliefs even when pressed. I don't think that last one is a good quality, but it made me respect him.

Worst Poster: Workers United. This is a guy that thinks he's a lot smarter than he is. He reminds me of the kid in College that had a little bit of intelligence, but zero friends due to his lack of social cues and just doubled down on being angry and confrontational as a middle finger to the world. (Cue WU coming back with a predictably self-important response.)

Nicest poster: Ghost.

Best thread: Ghost.

Smartest: Dochter, Zankou, Rama or Madmick. Hard to decide.

Best Mod: Madmick.

Biggest Troll: Ripskater.

You hate Sweden? Do you mind if I ask why? Sweden is the Scandinavian country that I'm least enamored with.

And you wanna hear something really damn stupid? I've been wanting to learn Danish, but Rosetta Stone only offers Swedish, which, from what I have read, translates the least efficiently between the other Nordic languages (Danish is more intelligible to Norwegian, Norwegian to Danish, etc.). Furthermore, I've read that there's the biggest gap between Danish and Swedish among the languages.

Are there any Danish (or Norwegian) language learning systems that you know are good?

I think the reason I got nominated is because I have recently been vocal about some of the developments in their country which I find concerning in e.g. post like this:
http://origin.forums.sherdog.com/forums/93935151-post25.html
http://forums.sherdog.com/forums/98088017-post28.html

Then I also poke a little fun of them (and some of them back at me) e.g. in posts like this:
http://forums.sherdog.com/forums/79482029-post210.html
http://forums.sherdog.com/forums/79482051-post213.html

I guess that's why I got nominated. But I don't hate Sweden at all, though I've been critical of their immigration system, their media, and recent cultural and political developments.
But then again, I admire them for their economic policies and health care system (areas where my country could learn a lot from them). And in general I get along with Swedes very nicely. You should see me as a concerned neighbour, rather than a hater.

Norwegian is the most efficient language to learn. It's right in the middle between danish and swedish (written norwegian and danish is almost identical, but the norwegian pronunciation of the words is closer to swedish than danish).
The only decent learning system I know for danish is this:
https://www.duolingo.com/

Then you should also try this: http://www.interpals.net/. A good way to use what you've learned in practice.

The only language I have tried learning on my own is Japanese. For that I used Rosetta stone, various other language websites, youtube tutorials, watched a lot of japanese movies, used smartphone applications, then I looked up the curriculum of formal japanese classes and got the books they used. And probably more than that. And it has taken a long ass time compared to other languages I have learned (2 years now, and I'm far from fluent).

What I'm getting at is that learning a language on your own is difficult, but it's almost impossible if the language you're trying to learn is from a very different language family than your native tongue. As such it requires a certain amount of dedication, because it can quickly get boring when you improve so slowly. I hoped that helped a little. Good luck. Or should I say "Held og lykke" (danish) or "Lykke til!" (norwegian)!

That makes more sense. What do you most heavily attribute these problems to? I would presume that Sweden would be more susceptible to the right-leaning immigration rhetoric because they have accommodated more immigrants and refugees historically (correct?). However, I did some research on Denmark a few years ago and found similar political trends of anti-immigration platforms gaining footing in parliament. I'm guessing it's just occurring to a lesser degree?

Thanks man! I really do appreciate it. I was really surprised RS only had Swedish. I was torn between Danish and Russian for my next language to learn, but since performing worse than expected on my recent placement test, I figured it might actually be most prudent to travel to Denmark while I'm young instead of waiting until I've established my career (and I only wanted to learn Russian for my own private reading). I'd even planned on taking advantage of some of the nifty free courses over there that they offer to immigrants and tourists, but I would hate to short-change my time there by doing that.
