there's a few good downsouth rappers still . West coast too & a few other places. But yo hip hop / rap was the best in the 90`s
It's because record labels / djs want you to sell out and be controlled.

There's very few real artists anymore

they're all bought and paid for, pawns of the system.

a lot of people believe that's why Pimp C was killed. He was speaking out heavily against record companies, talked about unionizing, uniting the South, speaking about hidden gays in hip hop, all kinds of shit.

Then shortly after, the South was basically taken off the air. No radio play anymore
