Update 18

skynews-morey-dog-attack_6574535.jpg

A 23-year-old woman who was mauled to death by a dog in southwest Ireland appears to have been the owner of an XL Bully.

The woman, who was named locally as Nicole Morey, was killed on Tuesday evening at a house in Ballyneety, County Limerick, at around 11:40pm.

Her body has been taken to University Hospital Limerick for a post-mortem. Irish broadcaster RTE said the dog involved in the attack was understood to be an XL Bully.

According to her social media, Ms Morey was the loving owner of what appears to be an XL bully.

In one video on TikTok, she is seen dancing with a dog in a kitchen.

The video is covered by a male voice saying: "This is my son and I don't give a f*** if you think he looks aggressive and I don't give a f***if you don't like the look of him and I surely don't give a f*** whether you think the breed should be banned."

Another chilling video appearing to show her as the owner of several dogs is captioned: 'But if one of us dies - I hope I die first.' The video ends with a caption reading: 'Love my family.'

In another post, she describes herself as a 'dogmom' and is seen handing treats to two dogs.

Ms Morey was treated by paramedics but died at the scene on Tuesday, Gardai said. One dog was put down while three others were seized.

Storm and Cee

An Edinburgh woman has revealed she had her hand chewed off in a horror XL Bully attack. The 26-year-old woman had rescued the two dogs but was savagely attacked by the pair on the 16th of May this year.

The seriously-injured dog owner was rushed to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary for urgent treatment and the two pets - named Storm and Cee - were euthanised following the sickening incident at a flat at Academy Street in Leith.

The woman's message reads:

Just want to clear a few things up and put my story across, the truth. not what papers are printing or Facebook statements from 'family'. Yes, I did get attacked from my two dogs, Storm and Cee, I rescued back at the start of 2024. Yes it was vicious. I've had to have plastic surgery to reattach my hand, skin grafts, intensive care and I'm still in the hospital trying to recover the best way to get home to my family. Clearing up the bull**** lies as usual cause people just need the attention. My two bullies where the most beautiful, loving and loyal dogs and what happened was out the blue and I couldn't be more devastated about loosing them like this. But I'm lucky to be alive. If [name redacted] wasn't there I wouldn't be here today, I can't wait to get home to him and the kids. Everyone can have their own opinions but I no I've no lost an arm and a leg, my hand was detached completely yes but thankfully after hours they've managed to reattach my hand but I've still got a long road. My dogs where never abused or starved, Storm was 126lbs, Cee was 106lbs. All dogs fed twice a day. Imagine having over 220lbs ripping you apart, thinking I'm going to die.

Not a single shred of sympathy for either of the women in these stories.

so who wins american pitbull terrier vs. american bully XL
An XL bully was created using 75% APBT, then bred with larger stock dogs for size until they became a distinct unrecognized sub-breed. It's got the same temperament in a much larger weight class.

In as much as pit lovers will claim they are different, they really aren't except they are bigger and more dangerous

XL bullies also killed someone I know a few years ago and I posted about it here. She was a huge pitbull activist And kept them even after they attacked her twice, determined to train them because she refused to believe in the genetic predisposition all pit dogs have. She got them as puppies and raised them right, but she wasn't strong enough to control those dogs so they didn't respect her as the alpha.

Not a single shred of sympathy for either of the women in these stories.
Darwin awards await those who don't control these dogs as a lethal threat.

The family of pit activists from Tennessee was the sad one, if only because the kids died because the parents were dumb enough to think their pet pits were docile. The mother and father were both hyper pit activists who claimed they were gentle dogs and not to believe the media(truth) about pits.

The dog of peace never stops.

All dogs will maul and chase sheep, our neighbours Newfoundland killed a heap of our lambs and a Alpaca.

North Wales police said: 'Despite several attempts by the farmer to stop the dogs attacking his livestock, he was unable to get them under control, before one became aggressive towards him.

'Both dogs were eventually shot by the farmer at the scene, with the financial cost of the incident amounting to more than £14,000.'

/

Maybe he wasn't there when the attack began. He would have had to notice, approach to find out what was going on, maybe try to stop the dogs with bare hands or maybe a stick or similar, maybe run to the tool shed to get a stick, then run back, it didn't work, then run to the house, bearing in mind it might be a long way and he might not be a fast runner, then run back with his gun, then try to hit the dogs without hitting the sheep. It could take a while. It doesn't say that he only decided to shoot them after they became aggressive towards him. They probably became aggressive towards him when he tried to stop them with bare hands.

Edit for clarification: The Wales Online article:

'The farmer made multiple attempts to stop the attack but was eventually forced to shoot the dogs after one became aggressive towards him.'

does imply that he only decided to shoot them after one became aggressive towards him but this seems to be editorialising/twisting the police quote, which does not imply that.
I would have shot them on sight

Update 20

A handout photo issued by West Midlands Police of one of the dogs they are looking for

Birmingham police are urgently looking for two American bulldog-type dogs believed to have killed a man found dead in his back garden.

West Midlands police said they were called to a house in Rubery, a suburb in south-west Birmingham, in the early hours of Wednesday after reports that a number of dogs were on the loose.

Officers found a 33-year-old man dead in the back garden of a property where the dogs were believed to have come from.

The force said a postmortem was being carried out to establish his cause of death but it was believed he had been attacked by at least one dog, which may have contributed to his death.

Officers seized two dogs at the scene and police are looking for two other dogs that they believe were also at the address at the time.

Inspector Leanne Chapman,

of the West Midlands police dog unit, said: “We have officers liaising with vets and the local authority, and are using our drone capability to scour the wider area. We really need to hear from anyone who has seen these dogs and it’s vital that if you see them, you don’t approach them but call 999 immediately. Similarly, if you or someone you know has taken the dogs in after finding them loose, we need you to call us as soon as possible.”

XL Bullies are restricted but ordinary ones are not.

Dog definitely looks guilty. Don’t fall for the sad eyes.

The baby probably did something to set it off. Probably stuck it's finger in the dogs ass or something.

A friend of mine just rescued one of those monsters. It has a bunch of cuts / sores from its previous environment, but it doesn't care if you pet right on the wound, hard. It loves it.

Another reason to carry if you can. Second you see one walking free, you better pull that thing out and shoot em. Crazy stuff

Doesn't most of the incidents happen in the UK ? What are the carry laws there ?

Just round up every single one you can find and cull them. Even those with 'licences'.

Pretty sure they cannot over there, so they just have to try and avoid them altogether, if at all possible. Or they should.

I checked the google trend data and xl attacks were non existent until recently. Why the sudden surge?
