don't agree. Ngannou is possibly the worst matchup for Jon. too dangerous standing and too strong to grapple. Francis also is much faster and more athletic than the version of Rampage Jon was scared to death to strike with was. Jon tries to play on the outside like that with Ngannou and Ngannou will walk him down. maybe Jon can kick his knee in or something, but a healthy Ngannou is going to smoke Jon.

Jones is the GOAT who has never lost a fight against anyone and has dominated the sport for a decade and a half. He has destroyed some of the other all time greats at a myriad of disciplines. It’s not really a surprise that most pros would pick jones (as they should). He literally has zero weaknesses in his game…let that sink in for a moment. Don’t get me wrong he has certain attributes that exceed others but what weaknesses does jones have in the cage come fight night?

he doesn't have good boxing. his wrestling is also hit or miss now a days.

lol best wins where blaydes,Rozenstruik struggled with gane

thats his best wins
dude in his prime was scared of blackbeast and got manhandled by stipe

all his best kos came from 10-15 years past prime 40 yr old fighters like jds, cain overeem
i dont know why his power is overated

JDS, Cain, and Overeem are some of the reasons why Jon never went to HW and Francis didn't just beat them but KO'd them easily.

Where have I heard this before...
Usually with every new opponent Jones faces.

Then they immediately become; "never that good anyway."

Every. time....

Hell, one guy in this very thread said, "Gane isnt a real HW."
<WhatIsThis>

Anthony Smith's opinion is so cracked out he thinks it's trying to hurt his family.

Jones would get viciously KO'd eventually.

Jones couldnt beat Marreta that easy, i don't know why a win against a kickboxer like Gane would make Jones be the HW GOAT.

What if he actually thinks this though?

It does seem to be the most common opinion.

Find anyone who works for the UFC broadcast media who says Francis would be favourite against Jones at HW. You can`t. They toe the company line.

Or maybe they just agree that arguably the best MMA fighter of all time would beat a one dimensional guy like Francis.

Lmfao typical... Ngannou almost wins a boxing match and suddenly he's ahead of Jones in polls

Are we talking about the Jon Jones who recently got TKOd in sparring against Don'tale Mayes?

How the f does someone get "tko'd" in sparring? LOL

Also, if you think Francis has been training for over a decade without getting dropped in the gym you're crazy.

Thats a myth, Ngannou has been wrestling for a while now, so much he even goes for takedowns with alot of success.

Apart from simply being better everywhere besides power which was always going to make it an uphill battle, Jon would have won considering Francis would've been coming off of total ACL and MCL reconstruction and a year of rehab. Francis would've been at his worst to deal with someone like Jon and his massive grappling advantage and knee kicks in March 2023 like they would've fought which everybody keeps forgetting.

There's a reason why Francis was pushing so hard to have his next fight after his surgery be boxing only, delayed that boxing match all the way until October 2023, and then on top of all this delayed his MMA return until summer 2024 (if ever). He knows MMA is going to be a much bigger problem with new knees than boxing would.

Jon would've fucked Francis up in March 2023. Their peaks are a bit more interesting, but again it's still really only power Ngannou has over Jon. And Jon's never even been hurt, let alone dropped, let alone KO'd. It was always a Hail Mary fight for Ngannou.

yeah the guy who was so dismissive of Francis leaving UFC to go boxing saying he made a mistake he will regret and has D level boxing. No wonder so many fighters have beef against Anthony
Smith is literally always wrong. He should be happy that they banned gambling. He should have a contest with Shill Sonnen, Shaub and Drake to see who can lose more money.

I think people are underestimating Ngannou's grappling way too much, I know Stipe is not Jon, but he's good enough, he pretty much wrestled DC to a stalemate and he couldn't do anything against Francis in the rematch

Jones is actually pretty hittable and gets a good smack in most of his fights, but a smack from Ngannou is a KO so I’m going Ngannou.

I doubt Jones could take down Ngannou in rounds 1-2 when Francis is still fresh.
