Movies ‘Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair’ to Finally Be Released in Theaters

Exactly.... Bad.

Can't change the style of action in an action series when there's just two of them.

If the internet was as big in the mid-2000s as it is today it would have destroyed Tarantino after the 2nd movie.
Nah, it's an intentional tonal shift from martial arts to western. It didn't really have much action at all, minus the Elle fight, which was great. The internet was definitely big enough at the time to shit on a bad movie, and it's not like opinions have soured on it over time. Not saying you had to like the tonal shift between the two(it certainly wasn't what I was expecting), but it's not "bad" in any way.

Just found out they are playing this at my nearest theater in the middle of the day.....

The 70mm 6 pm screening actually sold out here for some reason there is only one screening for the next two days. It is ridiculous that they are selling the tickets for 15.50 when the regular ticket price is 10 bucks.

Chapter 5 is easily my favourite Tarantino scene of all time. The bride arrives in Japan with her sword to collect some heads.

I've seen kill bill whole bloody affair several times before and here are the only changes to this version ive seen. Theres around 15 more mins of anime (which i really liked) Lucys character from age 11 to age 20 is the original showing, here it goes age 11 to age 13 to age 20. Also theres no Michael Jai White scene (which i liked). Thats it.

Intermission honestly killed it for me and it ruins the high of the first half. I was super stoned too so I was pretty sleepy at this point. Still love it. Still my fav Tarantino movie and a top 10 all time movie for me.

Seeing this again on Friday with my dad.

Edit: saw this again with my dad last night and I liked the second half a lot more due to not being so sleepy/stoned. My dad enjoyed it too. We snuck subs (Italian & ham n cheese) inside with some candy. Great time. The theater was crowded and nearly sold out. Everyone was really quiet for the most part. To me this film is in the 9 to 10 category of being excellent or a masterpiece.

If I could change anything to the film it would be this, to include the Day of Anger score instead of the snippet used during the crazy 88 fight, and at the end where she takes her daughter and is walking toward the camera, end the film right there. It doesnt need the extra 1 min scene of her crying on the bathroom floor at the motel.

Its nearly 5 hours

saw part 2 in theatres when I was living in California for a brief period. Somehow added to it.

Yeah I guess it is basically like paying for two movies. It is so long that it even has an intermission. Hateful 8 was the last movie I saw with an intermission.

Just got back from Kill Bill. I gotta say this is the way I wish I had seen it the first time. With the cliffhanger from the end of Vol. I edited out, Beatrix getting to Bill's and seeing her daughter is far more impactful. And the movie as a whole hits me now on an emotional level than it used to.

And I wasn't too keen for a Vol. III, but seeing how much Maya Hawke looks like her mother, it very well may be a missed opportunity not to see them together to complete the trilogy.

I saw this tonight. There was a longer animation sequence as mentioned by someone earlier. I thought this was a better format but the problem with the movie is that it doesn't do a good job at building towards anything. I don't think Tarantino knows how to build much of anything but put together scenes. It feels even more like this is a problem when you watch the movies back to back. I didn't really think there were any scene or footage added that improved the movie. The colored fight scene with the 88s didn't improve that scene. I think both segments are too long for what they are. There are parts of the movies that feel incredibly cliche, which I didn't feel so much about before but now I can't overlook them. I would recommend seeing the whole thing together if you like the movies but I don't think they aged like wine. I can't help but in some ways feel like Kill Bill was an over stylized predecessor to the over stylized Marvel movies. Maybe that has lessened kill bill for me some. I would give it 7.5/10. Clearly above average but not great.

I saw it tonight. My first time seeing the Crazy 88 fight in color. Why wasn't it always like this? It was way more fun and funny than horrifying. There's no reason why it had to be cut down or turned B&W for US audiences. GOD DAMN the MPAA straight to hell for fucking so many movies up and destroying so many creative visions. I wish Hollywood would disband the MPAA and just rate all future movies as either "Safe for Kids" or "Not Safe for Kids". That's it. It's either one or the other. And then they can give reasons why: "Excessive violence, sexual content, language, drug use, etc". No more of this nonsense where adult movies are rated too extreme for adults. Fuck that. Or normalize NC-17 where NC-17 can get a wide release and be shown in every theater that all other movies are shown.

I'm not the biggest fan of Kill Bill. It's alright. But I enjoyed it tonight. The extended animated scene was actually awesome. I was also thankful for the intermission.

I think the script was a good script but I wish another director had director QT's script like what happened with True Romance. Nothing in the movie felt like something building and at no point did I care for any of the characters. Beatrix is not likable with being an assassin and at no point has a moment of reflection of maybe this act of revenge was pointless or that her lifestyle brought this all upon herself. Who is the biggest monster in the whole movie? Probably Beatrix. Bill was raising a kid. Same with the black assassin. Bud was living a quiet life. Elle was Elle. Asian chick was head of a japanese crime network. The whole act of revenge by Beatrix seems so weird considering her job, how many years she was dedicating to this, and the fact that most of those involved didn't like living the assassin lifestyle. I think the script could have been more pointed if early on she had been made aware that her daughter was alive so that the movie would be about a mother doing anything to reunite herself with her daughter. That would make more sense. But instead is just revenge, which isn't something that motivates someone for near a decade. Instead, she only finds out she has as daughter at the very end of the film. It is like holding back the biggest motivator or burying the headline.

I really hated the kill bill movies and have never got why so many people don't feel the same.

I agree. They are stupid in every way possible.

And by my memory, these where the first movies he made, where the dialogue went from great and interesting, to strange and dorky.

Suddenly all the persons talking like weed smoking nerds, trying to sound deep and smart.

Some shit more or less kept happening in all his films after kill bill

Tarantino can't not do this because his career stalled after Jackie Brown. Kill Bill Volume 1 was released 6 years after Jackie Brown.

The scene he never got to make for the movies he did for an animated Fortnite short movie … was pretty violent for Fortnite … so was cool seeing another scene from kill bill

My favorite part of this new edition was the crazy 88 fight in color, fuck the MPAA. The eye snatching moment was way better without the B&W color switch.

The extended anime was OK, not sure I needed the expansion, that part was not my favorite in the movie.

I was surprised how “not long” the movie felt, wasn’t a chore and I didn’t feel weighed down by the 4.5+ hours.

Comparing it to One Battle After Another which is another long movie I recently watched (twice), I have to say while OBAO surprised me in that I didn’t realize it was that long until the second time Kill Bill 1+2 felt less time heavy due to the faster pacing.

The best part about this film is they dont spoil her kid being alive. Way better reveal at the end without the spoiler mid film. I hear the 4K release will have all deleted scenes added into it.
