Movies ‘Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair’ to Finally Be Released in Theaters

Wasn’t he supposed to do a third one ?
Yeah, it was going to be Vernita Green's daughter getting revenge on Uma Thurman, then it was going to center around Uma Thurman and the daughter, then he wanted to use her actual daughter, then he got sidetracked with Django and it just didn't happen. Uma Thurman's actual daughter and the girl who played her daughter in Kill Bill both played hippies in once upon a time in hollywood though.

To think I almost flew to LA earlier this year for to see this.
I'm not gonna fly anywhere to see it but I think I WILL go and see it, mainly because seeing both volumes at once would be cool. And because this is supposed to be uncut and unrated and the big Crazy 88 sword fight will be in full color. I've been dreaming of seeing that in full color since I first heard it was released that way in Japan. (The MPAA pisses me the fuck off)

It does say 70mm and 35mm will both be options. I may actually consider going to see this in 70mm, which is IMAX right? The nearest one is about 2.5 hours from me. I could make a day trip of it.

<mma4>

The trailer and poster look solid. I know QT said it was cool not having this out on bluray where people will just set it aside and forget about it. But I hope he does eventualy release it to 4K. I will absolutely buy a copy. (Funny enough Kill Bill isn't even one of my favorites. I rank it smack dab in the middle of his filmography. But it would still be nice to own as one movie completely uncut)

I haven't been is quite a while, but I used to go to LA somewhat frequently as it is a paradise for old movie lovers. There are at least 6 revival houses that routinely play old and obscure films.

Just today they are playing All The President's Men at The Egyptian in 35mm and IB Technicolor film prints of Cleopatra Jones/Black Belt at Tarantino's The New Beverly Cinema.

I like to torture myself by browsing the schedules when they come out.

"When you didn't come back, I naturally assumed that Lisa Wong or somebody else had killed you. Oh, and for the record, letting someone think that someone they love is dead when they're not is quite cruel. I mourned you for three months. And in the third month of mourning you, I tracked you down. Now, I wasn't trying to track you down. I was trying to track down the fucking assholes who I thought killed you. So, I find you. And what do I find? Not only are you not dead, you're getting married, to some fucking jerk, and you're pregnant. I... overreacted."

Pai Mei needs his own video game.
QT said when he retires from making movies he's gonna do TV shows, direct stage plays, and write books/novels. I wouldn't mind one of those novels being about Pai Mei back in his day. That would be pretty cool.

I liked the first KB movie. Second one was meh, IMHO.
That's what I thought but funny enough almost all the reviews I've seen hail KB2 as this 5 star masterpiece that's even better than KB1. I was kind of confused by it as I think KB1 > KB2.

@Highway99

I can't remember but did you say you've been to The New Beverly Cinema and Vista Theater? What about Pam's Coffy?

I've been to the New Beverly, but I haven't been to LA since since Tarantino bought The Vista and opened Pam's Coffy.
I haven't been to any of them but I definitely want to check them out next time I'm in LA. I know Pam's Coffy and The Vista sell QT merch. I'll probably pick up a bunch of stuff.

The New Beverly has merch too. Its also very quaint in comparison to theaters most people are used to and screen is smaller but it's kinda good because sitting in the front row is a more comfortable experience.

I'd say check out as many of the revival theaters as you can particularly The Egyptian, it's an awesome old theater.

I will go to LA in July if they play OUATIH as prelude to the Cliff Booth movie's release. It would be well worth the trip to see them both at The Vista/New Bev...

I only like the first one and mostly because of the last act, (from the point she buys the ticket to Japan and the green hornet music plays all the way to the end).

Never really liked the second part, so no interest in this, cool for the people that want to see it on the big screen.

I really hated the kill bill movies and have never got why so many people don't feel the same.

People have different tastes. I love the films. The score, fight scenes, characters, casting, cinematography and so on are just some of the reasons I dig them.

If it’s not your bag, it’s not your bag.

For instance I really don’t like ‘Django’, but a lot of people do. It is what it is.

He's not wrong...

The first one was good. Not great, but good.

The second was 'meh.' And 'meh' is after... Well... It's David Carradine's final performance.

I typically give movies a break when it has an actor's final performance.
