Women's 145 Is A Bigger Joke Than We Thought

I'm referring to the last two fights.I've only heard of one of the fighters
Yeah the last 2 fights are the ones with very inexperienced FWs, and one of them would have been moved up to face Carmouche according to your "the next woman will beat Carmouche" post lol.

Well, that's kind of stupid. That means you have no idea what their height, reach, or walk around weight actually is. For all you know, they could be blown up 135'ers and about the same size of Carmouche. 'don't pretend' The top of the list is full of names that the majority of people here know nothing about.
145 takes three of the first 5 fights.

Correct. Even if I cede the carmouche fight, 145 still takes half which puts the whole premise of this thread in serious doubt.

Tweet is 40 years old and has no impressive wins, I would not favor her chances against Pena lol.

Anderson vs Pennington is admittedly hard to call since Pennington usually doesn't look too impressive and the style matchup seems pretty good for Meegan.

This is the Top 15 for Women's 145 (global), according to this list:

#1 Cyborg Justino - 18 wins and 1 loss
#2 Julia Budd - 10 wins and 2 losses
#3 Megan Anderson - 7 wins and 2 losses
#4 Germanine de Randamie - 7 wins and 3 losses
#5 Charmaine Tweet - 9 wins and 6 losses
#6 Alexis Dufresne - 6 wins and 3 losses
#7 Amanda Bell - 5 wins and 4 losses
#8 Gabrielle Holloway - 6 wins and 5 losses

#9 Latoya Walker - 5 wins and 1 loss
#10 Marloes Coenen - 23 wins and 8 losses
#11 Amber Leibrock - 2 wins and 1 loss
#12 Leah Letos - 4 wins and 1 loss
#13 Daria Ibragimova - 9 wins and 2 losses
#14 Ediane Gomes - 11 wins and 4 losses
#15 Felicia Spencer - 3 wins and 0 losses

12 of them have under 10 wins. 7 of them have bad win/loss ratios. Almost all of them are green. The wins they do have are against manure-tier opponents.

For instance, here are the last five opponents that Charmaine Tweet has beaten:

Latoya Walker - 5 wins and 1 loss
Anna Barone - 2 wins and 5 losses
Veronica Rothenhausler - 1 win and 1 loss
Jessica Miele - 5 wins and 3 losses
Anna Barone - 2 wins and 5 losses

I see the problem.
There simply aren't enough Horsewomen on that list.

Megan/Rocky is not hard to call. Tweet has only lost to Cyborg, Anderson and Budd recently. Pena has only beaten Eye and old lady zingano. She got handled in her last fight. Tweet has no nuts to kick.

It takes an extreme level of fanboyism to try and argue that Featherweight is comparable to Bantamweight. There's a consistent pattern with most of those Featherweights. Their w/l ratios suck and their opponents suck even harder.

You don't say? Maybe it's because she's fighting opponents like Anna Barone (2 wins and 5 losses) multiple times.

Cat Zingano is 35 years old. Tweet is 40. Why is the younger one getting the 'old lady' label and not the older one? Cat Zingano has wins over Miesha Tate and Amanda Nunes, and she did it all while being an 'old lady'. Tweet has no such wins. As for Jessica Eye, she's a more credible opponent than a lot of the people in the FW top 15.

Pena is horribly undersized in this fight

Your hatred towards Cyborg is very evident. If you look at the Bantamweight, Flyweight, Strawweight and Atomweight divisions they are all the same. Many women in top 10 that don't even have 10 fights total and many have a win lose record that you have to scratch you head and say how the hell are they even in the top 10.

Bantamweight

#1 Nunes 14-4
#2 Shevchenko 14-2
#3 Holm 11-3 (1win 3 loses in last 4 fights)
#4 Pena 8-3
#5 Pennington 9-5
#9 Carmouche 11-5
#10 Vieira 8-0

Flyweight
#1 Maia 14-4-1
#2 Niedzwiedz 10-0
#3 Porto 18-8
#4 Modafferi 21-13
#6 Macfarlane 6-0
#8 D'Aielo 11-7
#9 Lee 7-2
#10 Ducots 6-2

Strawweight
#1 Jedrezjczyk 14-0
#4 Rose 6-3
#7 Hill 7-3
#9 Casey 7-4

So to say Featherweight is a joke than you would have to agree so are all of the other women's weight classes from Bantamweight on down.

FW has had as much time as any other female division, and the talent still isn't there. Yeah, it might improve now that it's in a bigger platform, but it could also lead to shitty matchups with shitty fighters involved that shouldn't be in there in the first place.

It hasn't had the same number of women involved to evolve like the rest and like i explained earlier the locations where female fighting has begun do not have the larger bodies so the evolution of that weight class was going to move at a snail's pace. As the sport is now moving into every other country you'll see more and more women at that weight class in the future and especially with the weight class fought more and more in the UFC.

She's beaten 1 fighter comparable to a top 5 BW in her career, no reason to extrapolate from that she could beat all of them with their different styles. I haven't seen her TDD against an elite WMMA wrestler in particular, but then we haven't seen her against an elite striker either. I would give Nunes, Holly, Zingano, Tate pre-retirement, and McMann all a decent chance at least. Ronda is a tough call...

Of course she destroys JJ, that's a 3 weight class difference lol. Almost any top 10 BW should handle JJ based on size really, if Cyborg couldn't it would be embarrassing.

There are no elite WMMA wrestlers outside McMann.

She's 145. That's just how it is. She's beaten pretty much everyone in front of her easily. I think you're being naive as most people are with Cyborg.

She's simply the best WMMArtist alive right now

To be fair, I think boxings top 10 ranks are pretty similar in skill set, especially during the Leilah Ali era.

Pre-retirement Tate was better at MMA wrestling than McMann. Zingano is up there too possibly.

I find it much more naive to assume anybody is a worldbeater without beating a wide variety of accomplished fighters with different styles based on how good they "look" against lesser competition, how many fighters have been proclaimed as far above the field by much of the fanbase only to fall against supposedly inferior opponents very shortly after? Many of those had better wins to back up their hype than Cyborg for that matter!

thats because its hard to find women who wanna fight mma at 45. thats big for the average woman and those that are close to that or are at that weight cut the 10 pounds and go to 35. with cyborg up there women arent gonna be as tempted to fight in that class compared to 35. hopefully we get some new challengers for cyborg after that evinger fight. we need girls that are gonna fight back and not just run and cower from cyborg

When you look at official UFC rankings, where they promote and push certain fighter maybe.

FW can be compared to 125 lbs, and still looks very bad.
