It was a joke Conor was allowed to do that. Now you want that joke repeated? Love DC but you can't hold divisions hostage. This should apply to every champ.

It's not that they strip belts, you can obviously do that and do it legitimately, professionally, and with consistency in its application, but nooooooooo no no no no, these shortsighted clowns just do whatever the fuck springs to mind on any given day it seems

Years? 13 months? Conor was stripped after only 11 months. It's been 10 months since DC fought at LHW. Had they waited for Jones/Gus it would've been even longer. And DC's now 40lbs heavier than he needs to be for LHW, not 10lbs.

Not only that, but Conor was stripped of his FW belt because of DC himself actually, not inactivity or "refusing" anything. DC decided to pull out last minute against Rumble (despite knowing for weeks he was injured) and left Holloway/Pettis last minute to headline a PPV. The UFC, as is typical, decided to make the fight an interim title to justify the PPV cost rather than cancel the PPV or make it free, but cause they already had an interim champ in Aldo, who was perfectly healthy, they just stripped Conor, who was also perfectly healthy, and promoted Aldo so that they could create another interim rather than have a FW champ, an interim champ, and an interim interim champ which sounds incredibly stupid.

There were zero plans to strip Conor until they needed to make a made up interim belt for Holloway/Pettis because of DC ruining the PPV.
 
The same site that doesn’t even have Cyborg listed as champ or anyone in that weight class

DC is still champion until the Gus vs Jones fight happens. If he somehow loses his HW belt, they’ll just make Gus vs JBJ for an interim one and have them face off vs DC to unify.

Jones signed to fight Bader before Rashad X Shogun was even announced
So did the UFC know Rashad was gonna pull out of the fight before they even put the fight together?
