Sure, in the hearing Brennan said the concern and reason for investigating Trump was based around:

Russians trying to build relationships with influential Americans

The fact it was timed around an election, where promises are more likely to be made in turn for favours




2012: Obama is accidentally caught on mic saying: "this is my last election, after the election I will have more flexibility" to Russian Prime Minister Medvedev who says he will transmit that to Putin and that he stands by Obama


That contains Russia and America trying to build a relationship, an extremely influential American (sitting US president) and timed around an election. The same reasons Brennan gave for Trumps investigation.

No investigation for Obama though. Brennan refused to respond to the question.
