If Stipe is that good he will fight for the belt again no doubt. It's just not very likely to be against DC. Win or lose against Brock at HW and whoever at LHW Cormier's time is pretty much done.

I'd watch a rematch at some point in the future if DC stayed. But right now have zero interest and hate immediate rematches anyhow.

Unless he is on steroids, he has 0 (zero) chance. Lesnar is a 41 years old one dimensional wrestler who's been out for 2 years, and before that NC he was out for 4 years.

It was a 1st round finish with zero questions remaining, so I don't feel a rematch is necessary, but since you asked.

Vs Maynard because of a draw.
Woodley vs Thompson because the first ended in a draw.
Machida vs Rua because the first fight was so close.
Wasn't Weidman vs Silva an instant rematch as well?

He has earned our respect. In addition to being a stud, he's also been a pretty decent role-model, as far as MMA fighters go.

Saying he's not a true champion and detracting from his contribution and success in two divisions is unfairly disrespectful. The guy is a damned Ogre.

EDIT: I should also add that while I think the Lesnar fight is an absolute freakshow that will not be remotely competitive, it will draw like mad and give the UFC a sorely-needed boost in exposure (given the daerth of active "stars" at the moment).

when i say not a true champion its because he didnt beat a champion at LHW and now hes HW champ but has no interest in any legit contender. he did win the belt fair and square at HW, so maybe im overstating it, but to beat stipe miocic and then say 'im fighting shogun, brock and then retiring' is like.... bruh, calling yourself champ champ is a stretch by itself because of the LHW situation, but then to win HW legitimately and not be willing to defend against ANY viable contenders at either weight class? there are literally 4 guys who can all claim a legitimate title shot and neither shogun nor brock are in that group.

Immediate rematches are for fights that are controversial or if the champ had a long streak of title defenses like 8, not 3. And Stipe got brutally KO’d, it wasn’t like he lost a close decision.
