Sitjaopho Muay Thai Camp

Does anyone know how tall are the twins? I'm interested in going and be able to spar and clinch with them but the thing is I'm tall for thai standards (6'2), so I don't know if that's going to be an issue while training with them.

I'd guess they are 5'9". I'm 6 ft tall and they can clinch with me fine. There are a lot of Scandinavians that train there and they tend to be fairly tall.

After reading so many reviews about this place from you guys I may end up here for my first time visiting Thailand. I emailed the gym and tried to message them on facebook regarding availability this December but no response so far. Anyone else going to be there in about a month?

You can just turn up at the gym. They won't turn you away. They just can't take large groups showing up without letting them know first.

Im there 25nov or something to 8-9th december , going down to Thailand in 11 Days, cant wait !

I just talked to Phet Tho and he assured that he will do his best to make sure I have accommodation on site, which is what I prefer. Phet Tho is quite a funny guy as well. I can't wait to go!

Awesome. I'll be there November 29 but not sure if I will stay my entire 5 weeks at Sitjaopho. We'll see! Hope to run into you there.

Goddamn, that food looks amazing.

I bet it's really good after a hard training session.

Finally made it to Sitjaopho yesterday!!! Wooohooo! I came in the middle of the afternoon session. Shot a short video here:

Had my first training session this morning and it as amazing. My fitness level is dogsh*t though lol.

Never experienced this type of fun yet technical sparring before. Was very light hear-ted, fun but also a great learning experience. Here's one of the gym mates sparring with Phet-Tho:

Then Phet-Tho, his younger trainers and all of us participated in the kick drills!

Phet-Tho was still recovering from a very bad cold. He missed training Monday morning so he's still recovering and not 100% yet.

I'm also keeping a blog about my first Muay Thai camp at Sitjaopho if anyone is interested in my ramblings. www.muaythaimemoirs.com

Does anyone know how much a private would cost with one of the twins?

I would like to stay near beach side with a possibility of having access to inexpensive local food within 5min. Anyone know some good place to live which fulfill these requirements? I don't care how far it is away from the gym. I guess with motorbike it is easy getting around, right?

I just spent a week training at Sitjaopho Muay Thai Camp in Hua Hin. This is the 11th different gym I have trained at in Thailand in the last 8 years, so I have a few other gyms to compare it to. I would rate Sitjaopho in the top three gyms that I have trained at. The thing that stood out the most was the sparring. I was able to spar every training session with Phet-Tho.

what are all the gyms you have trained at? I would really like to try either sitjaopho, sitmonchai, or kaewsamrit, wondering if you have trained at those gyms as well and your thoughts?

sitjaopho is in your top 3, whats your top 3?

Dude, it's easy to get caught up in the "which gym is better" discussion. All of those are fantastic gyms and you will get from them exactly what you put in. Just decide what kind of environment you want for your free time (or need for your betterment), then go do it. Kaewsamrit has easy city access, Sitmonchai and Sitjaopho are more rural. Really though, all will greatly improve your game and be a blast. You can't lose ☺️

This...most gyms that come up here are not going to be an issue for the skill ceiling of most farangs that go over there to train.

Having said that, I'm looking to head out to Sitjaopho (and PTT) on my next trip out (hopefully this year).

i see your point and I agree with most of it, however........sitjaopho for example seems to really only have a handfull of guys there at a time, while a gym like kaewsamrit is usually packed. when you go to thailand you want to make the most out of your short trip, but to the thai teaching you, whats to seperate you from the rest of the countless foreigners that come in..too many your just another person quick buck in and out......yeah yeah ok ok kick the pad, kick kick kick kick...and your stay is over goodbye.

I trained at Sitmonchai 5 years ago for 2 sessions. Their camp isn't known for being the most technical, but if you're looking to hone your basics (never a bad idea) and be around great people (Pornsanae is back!), you can't go wrong. On the spectrum of holiday camp to serious Thai champ factory camp I'd say its squarely in the middle for foreign fighter concerns. Hope this helps! I didn't get a chance to work with Kru Dam there, who is the main guy credited for developing their best fighters in Pornsanae and Yodkhunpon. He's also Kevin Ross' favorite pad holder fwiw. Hope this helps

A question for all the guys who stayed atleast one month at sitjaopho. Where did you guys stay? I would like to pay 10k-15k baht for the accommodation.

So is this gym still an option for a foreigner ???

Thinking of finally making the trip to Thailand this summer - has been on the bucket list of things to do.
