Ronda Rousey is the Mike Tyson of MMA

Nah, this is the GOAT poster

Tyson came along at the right time and fought and beat a lot of guys who were at the end of their careers.

Only time will tell. Niche sport huh, well, so was boxing a few hundred years ago. Think MMA will continue to grow or will it die off? I say the latter...

Boxing was one of the first major professional sports (some might argue the first, at least since the 19th century). If it has ever been a niche sport (which is debatable), it has only been for the last 10-15 years.

Yes, Kovalev is a very dangerous fight. He is in the same vein as previous fighters that Hopkins has had relatively easy times with (the Pavliks, Glen Johnsons, Trinidads and Clouds of the world), but Hopkins isn't the same fighter he was 3-4 years ago, let alone 15. Kovalev has a decent workrate and a bit of craft to go with his elite power, as well. It's pretty crazy that anyone near the age of 50 would ever take on a fight with someone like Kovalev, really. There are still a lot of questions regarding Kovalev, though, and Hopkins, even at his advanced age, is going to be extremely difficult to stop.

Tyson fought actual professional fighters.

Dana as good hands and reaction time. No wonder he was a boxercise instructor.

Also that gif was probably the last time Dana laughed with Tito instead of at him.

She's the least advanced/well rounded of any UFC champion. Nobody ever claimed Royce Gracie was a Mike Tyson, and that's about where her skill level is.

You realize Tyson has many "blemishes" on his record, right?

Apart from Holmes who was ancient, you could almost argue he lost to every great fighter he ever fought.

I guess the equivalent MMA fighter would be Michael Bisping.

Bisping lost to a long list of TRT fighters lol.
