President of Association of Boxing Commissioners: Conor's conduct jeopardized the health and safety

You're my boy but nope i dont see it that way. Dont use health and safety as reasoning for conors stupid disruptions of a cage fight. Just punishmen for being a stupid attention whore is enough.

There are people still defending this.
I don't know what the rules specifically are for MMA, but stateside you can get arrested literally just for running onto the field of play at a sporting event - and if you don't get arrested you'll get a summons for trespassing.
I don't think you can get arrested for running onto a pitch during a game here, and McGregor can't be arrested unless someone makes a complaint against him, it would probably need to be the injured party.

I doubt Goddard would complain to law enforcement over a push, he doesn't seem like the kind of guy who would.

You certainly can get arrested for running onto a field during a game.

Edit: just saw you meant in Ireland

I don't think anyone's arguing he shouldn't be punished, the real question though is why did he do this? To me there are only three explanations: either he has brain damage and can't control his emotions, he's on drugs and is out of control, or: he's doing this on purpose to get suspended so he doesn't have to defend the title, and can chill until a 3rd Nate fight is available.

In a statement Saturday, Mazzulli said that McGregor “jeopardized” the health and safety of the participants in the cage and “assaulted” both referee Marc Goddard and Johnson, the Bellator staffer.

Mazzulli wrote that he has been in contact with the UFC about McGregor’s behavior, as well as the ABC member commissions that license McGregor to fight.

The full statement is below:

While the Mohegan Tribe Department of Athletic Regulation (MTDAR) was regulating Bellator 187 in Dublin, Ireland, on November 10, 2017, the following events took place during the Ward vs Redmond bout.

Mr. Conor McGregor who was a spectator at the time, disrupted the event by scaling the cage prior to the conclusion of the bout. Mr. McGregor’s conduct jeopardized the health and safety of the bout participants by delaying necessary medical attention to the fighters that were injured during the round.

In addition, Mr. McGregor assaulted Referee Mark [sic] Goddard and a Bellator staff.

The MTDAR has been in consultation with the upper management of the UFC regarding Mr. McGregor’s inappropriate and unacceptable behavior.

The MTDAR has also contacted members of the Association of Boxing Commissioners that have licensed Mr. McGregor in their jurisdictions to inform them of Mr. McGregor’s behavior.

all conor did was celebrate inside the cage.

A cage he was not supposed to be in.
I like how you left out that he shoved a ref, went after him a second time (causing an injured fighter to fall) & then after being escorted out, he ran back in & smacked an official

Come on buddy, you are better than that lol

and i liked how you left out the ref pushing conor and the official trying to throw him off the cage.

I was thinking about this during the GSP/Bisping fight.

In boxing, you are only allowed one memebr of your coaching staff to be in the ring with you in between rounds. But, in MMA, there are at least a handful of coaches in the octagon during the breaks.

It's only a matter of time where one becomes two becomes three becomes a gaggle.

And then we are "shocked" when something stupid happens.

Get disciplined MMA.

& he was not one of the three even

If you ran into the field, pushed the ref, and slapped an official, you would be arrested immediatekly.

dude just cuz somone is not allowed to be there you dont injure them unless they are injuring someone else.

Goddard touched his chest to keep him away. If Conor was "injured" by that, then he never should fight again lol

It is NOT Conors place to be there
Conor then went after him & was a reason an injured fighter was knocked over

If that injured fighter was a Conor teammate & another UFC fighter was the cause of him being knocked over. Conor would be demanding he be cut.

Not if you are a fan of the civilian that trespassed.
Then it is OK, because "he was just having fun"

I am amazed at how some don't see it

Are you saying Conor shouldn't get in any trouble (fine, etc/) for what he did?
Not sure

Just bc Bellator liked that the top combat draw drew attention to their event, that does not mean the PTB should not look into it.

legally speaking,he shouldnt be held to any higher standard than an audience member....

that was his official capacity at the event.....

he isnt licensed in the jurisdiction where the incident took place.....hell, there is no legal legitimate sanctioning body there.....

He should be given no worse punishment than an audience member....

I forget how long a license remains valid.....if its a year from t
