In a statement Saturday, Mazzulli said that McGregor “jeopardized” the health and safety of the participants in the cage and “assaulted” both referee Marc Goddard and Johnson, the Bellator staffer.

Mazzulli wrote that he has been in contact with the UFC about McGregor’s behavior, as well as the ABC member commissions that license McGregor to fight.

The full statement is below:

While the Mohegan Tribe Department of Athletic Regulation (MTDAR) was regulating Bellator 187 in Dublin, Ireland, on November 10, 2017, the following events took place during the Ward vs Redmond bout.

Mr. Conor McGregor who was a spectator at the time, disrupted the event by scaling the cage prior to the conclusion of the bout. Mr. McGregor’s conduct jeopardized the health and safety of the bout participants by delaying necessary medical attention to the fighters that were injured during the round.

In addition, Mr. McGregor assaulted Referee Mark [sic] Goddard and a Bellator staff.

The MTDAR has been in consultation with the upper management of the UFC regarding Mr. McGregor’s inappropriate and unacceptable behavior.

The MTDAR has also contacted members of the Association of Boxing Commissioners that have licensed Mr. McGregor in their jurisdictions to inform them of Mr. McGregor’s behavior.

Mazzulli told MMA Fighting that any kind of sanction would have to come from a commission that licenses McGregor. McGregor has fought only in Nevada and New York over the last two years. Most recently, McGregor had a boxing match (a 10th-round TKO loss) to Floyd Mayweather in Las Vegas on Aug. 26.

Mcgregor. SMH. Bellator loved it. Promoted it all afternoon.

Connor thinks he's the Justin bieber of mma. What a fool. He thought he was so cool running around the cage.

Chael was chirping about this guy being the big bad boogeyman that was gonna suspend Conor... but I never got how tho lol

Are you saying Conor shouldn't get in any trouble (fine, etc/) for what he did?
Not sure

Just bc Bellator liked that the top combat draw drew attention to their event, that does not mean the PTB should not look into it.

Mcgregor knocking over the hurt fighter was the final straw for me.

More money, more ego, more stupid acts.

He should. Fined and Banned. No excuse for that. Dude has that " double champ does what he wants" attitude.

What an embarrassment to the Irish. You have one man make it big and he becomes THIS???

Mohegan tribes are regulating MMA in Ireland now?

{<jordan}

They better watch out for that wigwam tax.

Nothing will happen. Conor McGregor is an economy. Whatever he did is cheaper than all the money that the commisions that licence him could potentially lose if he doesn't compete in their jurisdiction.

His next fight could be anywhere in the world and sell out. There is no upside in punishing him, only a loss of U$500M to 1B in revenue.

I wasn't sure what you were saying.

If he broke rules, then he should be held accountable.

I like Conor, rooted for him in every fight (except diaz 2), but he was 100% wrong IMO.

It is in the hands of the commissions.

only way he stops this attention hore stuff is to get fined some crazy amount of money for this whole thing, incident he created.i hope he stops embarrasing himself

Will LOL if he gets stripped of his belt and suspended.

Either way, if they don't do anything about this its setting a disgusting precedent for the sport. At this point Conor is doing more harm and damage to the sport than its worth. He's the face of the sport, he should conduct himself with a little civility, not running around slapping officials thinking you're above the rules.

His next fight would not bring in anything near that.

Jumped a cage as a spectator, pushed a ref, punched an official, caused a huge scene, and inadvertently delayed the care of an injured fighter.

There needs to be some kind of punishment for this. This is not a slap on the wrist offense. Any other fighter would have been fed to the wolves at this point. You can't play favorites in situations like this.

they told him he had to defend his belt so he went crazy

Just imagine if Jones did this, the hate would be crazy.
