You can't just hold someone in the clinch for the whole round and wall and stall. That used to be a strategy, but it hit its peak of ridiculousness when Randy Couture basically clinched Brandon Vera for their whole fight. I love Couture, but that fight was a joke. Ever since then, refs have been instructed to prevent fighters from wall and stalling, and with good reason.

To suggest that somehow Tavares would have dominated (beyond wall and stall) if allowed to continue clinching is just ludicrous.
